Hey guys, I'm not a usual poster here but I just wanted to share something that I've been thinking about recently. Now, it might be potentially offensive so I'm going to preface it by saying there is something to be said about the technical art of drawing and understanding so called visual theories, like form and stuff.
But that doesnt make an artist. I'd even go so far to say that I'd respect some guy drawing his true vision rather than some guy drawing sexualized latino ladies with guns and wings as some artists prefer.
I have no formal training and i dont intend to corrupt my artist vision with standards of an art community. I draw on notebook paper with pen and while my pieces like shading or proportion they are filled to the brim with the shining light of originality.
Correct me if im wrong but I dont see the purpose in learning "standards" for art. Its not a science - there is no right and wrong.
I accept my flaws as style. do you accept your standards as flaws?
