Firearms and Children

Hey guys, this story came up on the news and I was watching it with my girlfriend.
She made a comment saying that it was disgusting, so I decided to give her the talk about teaching firearms safety from an early age.
She felt very strongly against exposing children to firearms of any sort at any time, although she thought it reasonable, albeit unfortunate that adults should have exposure to firearms.
I tried to make the point that if children are exposed to firearms as early as possible, the likelihood of firearm misuse and accidents is greatly reduced, but she remained steadfast in her opinion that children should not be exposed to firearms, even in the US where it is very possible to find loaded pistols at a person's house or in the street.
Is there anything I can say to her or do with her to help her understand that it is a good thing to give children lessons in firearm safety?
Or, should I just accept that it is her opinion that children should not have firearms exposure?

Okay /k/, this is going to be a long write but deal with me, this could be an interesting story for you demented fucks.
So to give you some background, I'm a young Eurofag anon (not underage as I have a CC permit and such) working at a company where my father is the director of a department this summer, before college starts, just to earn some cash and to make my days of use. I am also writing this from work right now, as I'm done with pretty much everything I have to do today.
Today a man walks in to ask about some information, and my father is the on to help him as the head of the department. To not share too much info or make this way too long, the person wanted to cancel a contract and make a refund as some things with the previous owner of whatever it is we work with weren't settled correctly. So my father explains to the man how to do it, but by refunding from us he can get all the money he gave to our company, but no the taxes. Now the key point here - the taxes take up about 75% of the thing in question, so the client can only get the 25% that are with us back. The rest is already forwarded to a bank and so my father explains to the man that he has to go to them to try get the rest, but that is practically impossible since taxes are not returned when paid, you can't cancel a tax. The client gets slightly angry, he is already shaking, seems to be on some medication or just unstable, but accepts what my father tells him and leaves.
Fast forward roughly 3 hours later, the man returns. He immediately walks over to my father who is sitting behind his desk, and tells him something among these lines:
>I am mentally unstable since 1978, I have *can't recall what
>I see that you are a smart man, as if you were not you would not posses what you have
>I will give you two options: You will give me my money back, or you do not do so, you will end up badly
>I hope that you make the right decision

The Chinese regime is putting the finishing touches on its new HJ-12 anti-tank missiles. Its soldiers will be toting around the new weapons, which can destroy modern third-generation tanks, and China is also planning to sell the portable missile systems.
The HJ-12 is an anti-tank weapon. It’s able to target tanks close to 2.5 miles away, according to China Daily, the English edition of China’s state-owned People’s Daily.
Among the tanks the new weapon could allegedly destroy are America’s M1 Abrams, Russia’s T-90, and Japan’s Type 90 Ky?-maru. The modern, third-generation tanks were beyond the destructive capabilities of most troop-carried anti-tank weapons, but China’s new HJ-12 aims to change that.
The company that makes the HJ-12 is China’s state-owned weapons manufacturer, NORINCO. The same company has been feeding weapons into South Sudan. Vice News reported that in June, NORINCO sold $38 million in “assault rifles, grenade launchers, anti-tank rounds, and many millions of bullets” to South Sudan.
The weapons have been used in a bloody civil war in Sudan that has killed more than 10,000 people and displaced 1.7 million civilians. Vice reported that rebels are complaining over China’s role, saying the Chinese regime is “providing arms that are fueling the conflict in South Sudan through its arms manufacturer,” NORINCO.
