Post whatever's on your realistic wish list that you can't obtain yet because you're waiting to save up money for it, your wife/husband doesn't want you to get it, or you can't find one in good condition / for a good price.
Don't post the one in a million NFA item you want that there's only one of. This is for realistic aquisitions that are just barely out of your grasp.
For me, I'm saving up for a VEPR in .308. I found one at a LGS for $900 out the door, but I'm still saving up money for it. If that gets bought up, my fallback is pic related.
A-1 Skyraider is perfect for today's wars

What are most of the strikes over Iraq and Syria today? High performance jet fighters being used as bomb trucks. They're loaded up with a modest 4-6 500 lb bombs with JDAM/Paveway kits, maybe some Mavericks substituted in occasionally. They fly hundreds of miles from their airbase or carrier, loiter for a while, maybe drop some or all or none of their bombs, and come back. To do this, you have the high cost of operating advanced aircraft, the cost of burning away hours of their valuable airframe life, and the cost of endless refueling sorties. All for a mission that requires a fraction of the jet's capabilities.
Meanwhile an A-1 is nearly perfect for the same job. It was built for long range and high endurance. It's got a good payload capacity (especially since it's not just one that looks good on paper, but is realistic). Give it some updated avionics so you can hang a sniper pod off it, a new engine for even better fuel efficiency, and it'll carry the standard 2-3K pound payloads for hundreds of miles, and then stay on station for hours.
But, if it's safe enough to descend from medium altitude and dropping smart bombs, it also has the armor plating to handle ground fire to get up and personal. And it has the guns and the low speed handling to take advantage of low altitude operations. All for dirt cheap operating costs.
It even has bonuses like carrier compatibility and excellent short take off performance to further increase flexibility. The V-22 needs a better escort because helicopter gunships are too slow? How about the original Sandy?
