Navy jets with extra fuel can't be launched off new carrier

he U.S. Navy's top warplanes can't be launched off its newest aircraft carrier if they're carrying fuel tanks needed to extend their flight range because the ship's high-tech catapults cause too much wear.
Military weapons testers view this as a deficiency that would "preclude the Navy from conducting normal operations" on the USS Gerald R. Ford until it's corrected, said Air Force Maj. Eric Badger, spokesman for the Pentagon's testing office, in an email.
Flaws in the ship's landing system also are being fixed, and the U.S. Government Accountability Office has said other needed improvements are being deferred until after the ship's scheduled delivery in March 2016 to stay within a $12.9 billion cap on construction costs imposed by Congress. That's 22 percent more than estimated five years ago.
The 480-gallon tanks for extended flights are carried under the wings of two models of the F/A-18, the Super Hornet fighter and the Growler jamming aircraft. The carrier's electromagnetic launch system, made by General Atomics, puts more stress on the tanks than older steam-powered catapults, and that would cause premature damage to the planes, according to the test office and Navy documents.

Serious question /k/, let's say that hypothetically, the US government does enforce a nationwide gun confiscation. I keep hearing crap like "hurr durr, Imma shoot back, muh freedumbs" but let's face it, chances are, you're the only one in the household when they come knocking who has a weapon ready maybe two people, MAYBE you have body armor of some sort, and just MAYBE less of you have actual combat training, if military and/or police come knocking at your door asking you to hand your weapons over, what will your actual response be? The confiscators will be armed, protected, and most likely the perimeter of your home will be mostly surrounded. 5-10 men perhaps more will be at your door expecting you to comply. If you attack, you will die, as if that weren't enough, no one will give a shit that you died, you will be made out to be the aggressor and the legitimacy of gun confiscation will be furthered because we all know the anti-gun folks and the liberals hate people who bother arming themselves because
A) They've never shot a gun and/or don't even know how to use one
B) "Hurr durr no one NEEDS a gun"
C) Think gun crime is correlated to gun laws, which is not in the least true or applicable.
Realistically, and that is, if the American people even have the stomach, would they have time to organize against them? Gun confiscation might be a divide and conquer sort deal where there aren't any armed groups resisting such an event. I heard this happening back during Katrina in New Orleans which still haunts me. 1/3 of the personnel refused the order which is comforting, but that still leaves 2/3 of those who didn't.
I'm freaking out /k/, what do you even do in this situation?
Muh guns, muh freedoms /k/

Dear All Gun Enthusiasts, Noob Here buying my first semi automatic .223 rifle
My state is very annoying with gun laws here are the main 3 i'm considering:
an AR-15 semi auto (.223), only holds 10 round clips at a time, ($800-900)
A Kel-tec 16 Su A semi auto (.223) ($600)
and a special made S&W AR-15 Semi (.22) ($650) (thinking .22 maybe because the ammo is cheaper but also want some home defense) Any other suggestions/comments? I want something that looks cool but can also get the job done. This is mostly for target pracitce, medium game hunting, and some self defense if needed.
