IL /k/ Meet up

For the meet, we was thinking a Saturday would be best because most of us work or are busy during the weekdays. So for the date I was thinking the 22nd of December, that would give everyone at least three weeks to say they are going or are not going and enough time for people who want to take off work and come. The range we chose was On Target In Crystal Lake.
As for the exact time, that is to be decided. Let me know if we need to choose another date or if the majority of you want or need to change it. Also for people that do not own guns such as myself, the range does let you rent firearms.
Next, If you or someone else need a ride to the range and back home again let me know. I am willing to give rides to people who aren't too far away. I am from the Elgin area. I know our parents taught us not to get in cars with strangers, but this is one time I think we can break that rule with out the possibility of getting sexually abused...well hopefully not. This is a /k/ meet after all.

I'm writing some sci-fi stuff these days, and it takes place on a planet that's pretty poor in mineral resources. Lead, tin copper and the like are very uncommon, but Iron happens to be a little more abundant. So we have Steel! (Or pure iron).
Now, I gather than Iron/Steel bullets (or musket balls) will have higher muzzle velocity than lead bullets, but lose speed more quickly due to their lower density, and will not expand upon hitting a target but either go straight through, or get stuck. Also, unless the gun is a smoothbore design, a steel bullet would probably fuck up the rifling.
1. Can pure steel bullets be made to tumble reliably in order to cause increase tissue damage?
2. Would using pure iron bullets in a steel barrel be easier on the rifling?
3. What kind of armour could stop a pure steel bullet?
4. Might rifled slugs in smoothbore barrels perform similarly to smooth bullets in a rifled barrel?
Thanks for any answers.
And if anyone has any other interesting things to say about iron or steel munitions, I'll be very keen to hear it.
Pic indirectly related: It's what people on this planet will have to use if steel bullets turn out to be impossible.

Is 19K a good MOS to enlist for?
If my current job doesn't work out, I'm going to enlist and I want to do something combat related, not some desk job.
I'm aware we're currently at peacetime and I won't see any deployments, or at least that's what militaryfags on /k/ have been saying.
I was going to try 11bangbang, but I figured 19K would be more fun during peacetime. Tanks have always fascinated me, so operating and doing maintenance on them wouldn't bother me at all.

So, the educational system here is like this;
You give exams on 4 or 4+x classes(x=specific ones), get a grade with 20000 (+x's grade) being the best and then you decide where you will go uni. I'm border line for the best military uni in my country. When I finish I go to a decent sized camp with the rank of officer and continue from that. I have to stay in for some days a month at start, then they get really little. They provide lodging, as I can just stay in if I feel like it.
I asked some friends and they say it's perfect, then my dad and pondered a little the situation and said I will have girls all over me because of high steady income and it's worth it.
Can I bring bbs dbs racks and weights in there to lift on my free time, or I have to go outside the military. The camp may have gyms but I won't be training with 20 year olds going first time to the gym doing crazy shit
What do? Go for it? It sounds decent and I love guns and shit.
posted it on /fit/ but got troll answers.
Never went to the military but I heard some guys say people can be really crazy and that's the place I will notice it. Why?
