Hey /k/, nogunz here (but I really would like to change that. Found this Spandau 1909 K98 in my grandma's basement, along with a Mossberg 44US(b). Both in what seems to me like pretty good condition, although I shouldn't be talking.
If I can convince her to let go of them, should I keep them or are they worthless after all this time?
Please enlighten me, I so wish to join your ranks.

Battle rifle fans, big sky hunters, and the three of you with enough disposable income to own a Scar-H: how much shooting do you actually get to do when every trigger pull costs $1.00?
I have been putting together an entry level long range bolt rifle, and the internet recommends a .308. Pricing out nice glass was bad enough, but when I started looking at ammo prices, especially for match grade, I don't like what I see at all.
Is there anyway to get the price down for shooting .308? Does steel cased ammo suffer in the accuracy department, or will I be forced into using higher end brass ammo for tight groups?
If I'm forced to go down the reloading route to save my bank account, what kind of price will I be looking at per round, ignoring the sunken costs of the press, scale, etc?
Or, is there another less expensive caliber I missed for being able to punch paper at 400+ yards and still make ethical kills on whitetail, hogs, and coyotes at range?
