Hello /k/omrades, I have recently been reading about cleft turrets. Cleft turrets seem to have many of the advantages of oscillating turrets, however they have never been commonly used. Cleft turrets allow tanks to easily fit autoloaders and cram a bigger gun into a smaller turret. Unlike an oscillating turret, only the tank's gun and the part of the turret above the gun move independently of the turret. Cleft turrets do not have the same problems with gun depression as oscillating turrets, however their gun elevation is lacking.
My question is why cleft turrets never became widespread? They seem to have most of the advantages of oscillating turrets and very few of the disadvantages. Would cleft turrets have the stabilization issues of oscillating turrets?
The picture is of a T92, an experimental light tank designed in the 1950s. It utilized a cleft turret with an autoloaded 76mm gun. It was designed to replace the M41 Walker Bulldog, however it never entered service.

This newfag shit is absurd.
newfag is for /b/ /v/ or any other board that lacks an anecdotal expertise that would disqualify you from contributing.
When you own, understand, and study weapons your opinions/insights should hold relevance here, regardless of how often you lurk, or what fucking stupid memes you contribute to.
There are two kinds of inside jokes on /k/
The one 90% of you adhere to is - make fun of those who don't understand the meme of the month (read, flavor of the month- kebab, it's social, not technical)
10% of /k/s population rail against the offensive and ridiculously superficial, contrived and theoretical nonsense espoused when discussing a certain weapon platform/caliber/etc.
Yet... As a thread progress' it turns in to some ugly and childish *meta* circle jerk, frankly you guys insult us all.
Been hanging here 6 years, I don't get half your memes, and I'm pretty embarrassed by the direction that most threads take, that is all.

Looking to sell brand new in box a Rock Island Armory Tactical 2 10mm,
Specifications and Features:
Checkered flat mainspring housing
Extended magazine well
Scaled VZ Grips made of durable G10 with relief exposing the checkered magazine release
Ambidextrous safety and grip safety with memory bump
Rear sights are low profile, fully adjustable complimented by a fiber optic front sight
Overall length is 8.5"
Each R1 1911 10mm comes in a factory hard case and includes two 8 round factory magazines
What are /k/'s thoughts. I have enough pistols in 9, 40 and 45. I have yet to step into "best mm." I am a sucker for the 1911 platform. A lot of people at SHOT were speaking highly of this pistol. I've had the pleasure of owning Rock Island 1911s, incredible value for the price.
Thoughts, questions, concerns?

Hey guys, I was gifted this old air rifle from my father. He says he got it from his grandfather who got it from ww2(can't confirm story other than by saying it really is an old German made air rifle). Obviously it will never be sold, but could I get an estimate on price, also it's missing the trigger assembly(where could I find a replacement?) and has a bb or something jammed down the barrel, will take more pictures if you guys want.
anyways, what all can you tell me about this air rifle /k/?
also dumping pictures I already took of it.
