Once upon a time there was a cute little AR.
It wasn't the gucciest AR, and sometimes it got picked on by its friends.
But it was happy.
Until one day, men in black that it had never seen before burst in and grabbed it.
"No let me go you aren't my owner!" it shouted desperately.
But they could not hear its screams.
It could hear them talking to each other.
"Hillary is gonna be really happy about how well this is going," one said.
And then the AR was melted down in a furnace, and used to make liberal anti-gun "art."

The End.

Form 1 is something you manufacture i.e. putting a short upper on your lower.

For 4 is buying something already manufactured i.e. buying a mk18 clone

A trust has so many advantages.
You don't have to send fingerprints, recent picture, or have a local law enforcement officer sign for it.
I think you can set up people to get your NFA item if you die or something like that.
You're also more legally protected from laws and rulings involving your NFA item.

With the CTR you get the no wobble but with the advantage of not having to pull the stock out over a piece of tape that might start to peel and bind up the works.

I started out with an MOE on my first build, but nowadays short of using it as a cheap fixed stock I would always choose CTR.

Different anon here, but owning both MOE and CTR stocks, the only selling point the CTR has over the MOE is the friction lock. While neat since it makes the lock feel tighter, I wouldn't pay more for again if I were to purchase another Magpul stock.

If staying in the brand, I'd sooner point you at the MOE SL soley since it has a rolled toe and I like that feature in a stock.

Ha. I don't know what the internet's butthurt is for the Stark grip. Its very comfortable, especially if you have decent sized hands.

Ive put alot of rounds through my MMR, steel cased, brass, XM855, 55 grain to 72 grain, hollowpoints etc.

Never jammed, miss-fired, or had a FTF..

Its got a milspec buffer tube, castle nut is staked, gas keys are staked to shit, and if I can do this with iron sights.. Whats the problem?

They pretty much made their name on being the grip you could use to cover up kitchen smith's mistake. Like I said its simple association any time I see one now.

As for being a cheap rifle that works and shoots for you, I'm sure all of use have at least one or two that do so be they ARs or not. I was simply saying this is the first one I've seen in the wild, ever.

Yea, I know it's the "grip of shame"

But a new trigger guard is like 7 bucks..

I like the Stark better than the Magoul MOE grips and such, simply feels better in my hand, even the Magpul grips feel slightly small for my liking.

A new grip is always a fairly cheap add on, and there's about 1,000 to choose from lol.

>And what are the advantages of a trust?
Circumventing CLEO signoff and access to eForm filing. Also extra snake oil that lawyers will peddle on the gullible/fearful. Just some example strawmen:

>I think you can set up people to get your NFA item if you die or something like that.
A trust obviously isn't needed for this, otherwise we'd never have "help me ID this gun my grandfather left me". The advantage of a trust is purely hypothetical - in any jurisdiction where there are arbitrary restrictions on inheriting NFA items (there are no confirmed cases of this ever happening), the formalized structure of the trust would smooth the process.
>You're also more legally protected from laws and rulings involving your NFA item.
This is insane. Do you mean like, if you rob a bank with a registered SBR, you can claim "haha suckers it wasnt my gun it was a trust's!!"? Or that the ATF reclassifying the Sig pistol brace would only affect pistol braces owned by individuals and not owned by trusts?

Anyway a big important pro currently is eForms. Since trusts don't need fingerprints or a CLEO signature, you can do the entire form digitally thru an exclusive ATF webpage. Some claim the wait time for processing eForms is faster/slower than paper forms.

You're completely disregarding the possession of the item itself. If I leave a can or an SBR with my dad, it's all gravy since he's a trustee. If I have it registered as an individual and not to a trust, I can't let him borrow that shit.

As for extra steps as an individual, it's also the photograph and fingerprints as well as CLEO signature.

>>
Anonymous 2015-10-24 08:41:45 No.27677294
>>27677236
>The advantage of a trust is purely hypothetical

Well there is another advantage, that being the beneficiary of the trust would be able to take possession of the items held by the trust immediately outside of the probate process. If the items were owned by an individual they would still need to be transferred via a Form 5 (tax free) to the declared beneficiary of the Will.

14.5" with minimal practice you can hit minute of man at 500. I've see guys go minute of man with 16" stainless and match ammo at 900 yards, and while fairly seasoned shooters, they weren't trained marksman or competition match guys. Terminal ballistics might start turning to shit, but rounds on target are rounds on target.

Nail on the head homie. You can set them up yourself, but for $200 or less you can find lawyers who specialize in NFA laws and trusts. Ask a local gun shop or two, they usually have good references for lawyers on that front.

The A Frame is bugging me though, if I don't keep it in the collapsed position I can see the blury silouette of the front sight. So I've decided to get a 13" kmr.

I've been thinking about getting the NSR but the upper reciever modification just seems like too much work. The BCM Alpha is 7.7oz to the NSR's 10.3ozs and is a lot cheaper is it really worth all the extra money and trouble yo get the NSR?

A trust will do nothing to mitigate dealing with the ATF other than using e-forms which could make things faster for you.

What having a trust WILL do is mitigate dealing with getting approval and fingerprinted by your local police station. If you plan on owning multiple NFA items then I'd consider making a trust.

Traded an AK for pic related a while ago. 18" barrel with 13" (I think?) VTAC alpha rail and a no name muzzle brake. Mostly just use it as a range toy, but its a little have for my weak manlet arms when shooting while standing (usually have bipod off) I want to switch the stock out for a collapsible stock like the CTR, but it already seems kinda front heavy (and heavy in general). Do you guys think it would be better to have a heavy stock to balance out the rifle or a lighter one to bring overall weight down?

You will still listed in the Trust documents as a Trustee which must be submitted to the ATF. To further separate themselves from the Trust some people will set up bank accounts in the name of the Trust to pay for the items in schedule as well as the tax stamps.

The stamp will only list the Trust itself, not the Trustees. However your Trust documents must be sent in with a list of Trustees.

At this point the number of individual NFA owners and Trusts is so large you have little to worry about. Keep in mind that NFA owners by and large tend to be of more politically influential income brackets than Bob the Gun Owner with his Del-Ton and Glock.

With the exception of M-series subguns and a handful of others, most machine guns as an example are worth more than most people's cars.

Hmm more interesting stuff to consider.
But I don't think the size of the list diminishes at all the significance of your presence on it. And even though your name isn't on the stamp itself, your name was submitted to the ATF with the paperwork. So despite any point of view, your name would now be on "the list". I wish I could go SBR over pistol, but dealing with a brace instead of a stock is preferable in this circumstance.

I can only provide my arguments for it based on the idea of if you want an NFA item legally, you have to abide by the systems currently in place.

For example, I live in a Shall Issue state and I've met gun owners who refuse to get their CHL for the same reason of "being on a list". In that case they are looking at $2500/1 year for misdemeanor or $10,000/2-10 years felony depending on the circumstance if they are caught carrying without their CHL.

For me, $140 and being on a list to legally carry is cheaper than that. Having to be on a list to enjoy my SBR and suppressor I also feel is a worthwhile cost.

I don't like the NFA, but I will abide by it until that time when it is disassembled or I die, all the time being able to enjoy my NFA items as opposed to not having them and thinking "damn the man" to myself.

My local long range has steel from 300 to 900, and a shorter steel and paper action carbine course. And with permission, you can drive your car in there for some real action. It's $250 a year.

All my steel is for a single 300 yard personal rifle lane and my action pistol gallery.

>bringing your own steel to the range
>setting up how you want
>doing vehicle drills

sounds majestic as fuck would definitely pay $250 a year for a range that let me do cool shit like that.

That's a decent little course.

You know, pistol rated steel knockdown targets aren't that expensive. For about 100 bucks with free shipping, you could add some circles and steel bowling pins which are really fun.

With permission from the range first, or course.

>btw the reason i have 10/30s instead of normal 10 round magazines is that i needed mags that would fit into pouches properly
This makes sense, but personally (once I get enough mags to do it) I'm just going to have 10+10 jungle mags, taped end to end. It's a better use of the same space, and solves the not fitting problem.

Oh, they have steel for you to shoot on the carbine course. Full size torsos and the center of mass targets. Paper is if you use AP.

You put them out, you put them away. And give them a quick touch up of rattlecan when you're done.

California has some of the best national parks and would be the best fucking state in the union if not for all the fucking faggots and our government.

you hating on the Californians that are trying to protect your gun rights by taking cases to federal courts is like shooting yourself in the foot.
