Lets say you found out in 2 months time there would be a SHTF-ish scenario.

This involves mass riots, looting and civil unrest. Gangs will roam the streets and it will be extremely dangerous to go to work or even the grocery store.

What would you prepare? Do you have specific weapons in place? Body armor? Would you recommend a plate carrier and belt and AR or a gray man approach?

I need ideas.
How would you keep your family safe in this hypothetical scenario?

Buy loads of shells.

Here comes the kicker. I live in Denmark, so there is no chance i will get very far from civilisation.

BUT: During the last couple of years, my friends and i have been building what's going to be a fort, around his cabin in the woods. We've built an oven, storage for firewood, storage for food a wall that goes all the way around and put some real fucking dense.. i dont know what the fuck it is, but it's got loads of thorns, basically barbed wire. We made it all from materials found in the woods, so there's no chance we would run out of new materials for a while..

But what im getting at is that, while our chances might be slim, we'd at least stand A chance

Assuming I'm the only one that initially found out, and that no one else would know? Would I even be able to prove to them that it's a very viable situation?

Assuming so, probably tell family/immediate friends. Set off with friends because family will drag me behind, assuming they even believed me. Like if this is really SHTF, my brother is disabled, my mother weak. My dad is the only one who would have a chance surviving. I'd make sure they're safe somewhere, but I wouldn't count on their survival, as cold and edgy as that comes across. I'd prefer the company of my close friends. I'd teach them any of the /out/related knowledge I have, and we'd set off to a friend's large private property and try to set up a small campsite settlement of sorts, where there's plenty of fish/game. We'd definitely overfish/overhunt and that will be one of our downfalls. Probably resort to raiding and we will undoubtedly end up getting killed off within the week.

We're just a bunch of dumb college kids with no real grasp of what a SHTF situation would entail. I mean, half of my friends have never shot a gun, and I doubt would be able to handle killing someone, in self defense, self preservation, or otherwise. I feel like myself and another of my friends could handle it, but even then, that's pushing it. The most we've killed are game. I couldn't imagine under whatever circumstance it would be like to take another man's life, or make another decision that heavy.

>What would you prepare?

Tell the cops and everyone else that would be affected that there's going to be huge riots in 2 months and that they should engage in some community outreach to prevent the unrest and keep a close eye on agitators and known gang members. Maybe create a mixed-community citizens patrol to help the police out.

If the conflict is inevitable for whatever contrived reason then suiting up like a soldier and fleeing would still be silly. The much better idea would be to play knight and purchase a giant farm plot near a major highway and start planting potatoes, squash, turnips, corn, etc. and erect a barbed wire fence around the whole thing and some barracks. As soon as its finished and the riots appear inevitable I'd hand out a map to the farm to the citizens patrol and to police stations and tell them to meet me there when the time comes. A settlement of refugees forms around the farm, working the fields while the militia guards them and the police embark on raids into the city where they arrest gangsters and thieves en masse and send them to work on the farms, which will have expanded to several plots by then. The insurrection ends whenever all the rioters are arrested or the military gets up off their butts and helps out.

I'd follow in Hitler's footsteps and move to South America. The economies on the forgotten continent are more or less self-sustaining, and my family has some really nice property in the farming highlands of southern Chile where I'll never have to worry about chimpouts, fallout, or growing food.

If I knew the USA was going to have a SHTF scenario, I'd simply buy a one-way ticket and file papers for citizenship before starting a new life living in the mountains, farming for myself, and raising Alsatian Dogs with all the other old Germans.

My father got us started before I was born during the gas crisis in the early 70's. We have been ready for anything since and now have a nice little group of like minded people ready to protect our community. Jerkey is your protein, berries for vitamins and minerals, and the fat for carbs. The fat also keeps the rest from going rancid.

You really should consider a solar powered indoor green house or just a plastic panel green house attached.

It may cost a bit, in either case, but year round sustainability built upon year round produce is hard to beat.

Something like potatoes takes a bit to grow but because they're wind pollinated, you can have them grow non stop with certain techniques.

I figure the raider types will be decorating lampposts by the end of the first month. In the first week or so they're going to pick off bunches of people who weren't going to last much longer anyhow. Then they're going to try going after the people who've had a week to prep and plan for being raided. Attrition on both sides will be about equal, which means raiders start dwindling. By about the 3rd week, hunting parties will be tracking down the remnants. Fifteen minute trial, then the rope goes over the lamp standard.

If people are trying to survive, they're not going to have any time for dealing with special snowflakes who want to live out their apocalyptic fantasies. A bullet or a rope is about the best they can hope for.

But that's my fantasy. Removing the special snowflakes. Are you going to try and remove me while I'm removing them, cause that's how you end up getting removed.

Maybe, maybe not. Your diet is going to change, and you're going to be doing a lot more physical stuff.

Eating paleo and working your ass off for 12 hours a day might level out your brain chemistry some. Endorphins and whatnot.

Not saying it's going to be a magic cure, but you might level off some.

Exercise, sunlight, and human interaction all help, and you won't be able to avoid those first two things.

Or, you know, you'll perish.

No, you're engaged in a publc service. Don't be surprised if some widow lady sews a Texaco star to your shirt, and everybody starts calling you Marshal.

This works best if you carry a levergun, so you probably want to start practicing now. Packing a wheelgun wouldn't hurt, either.

>Gangs will roam the streets

Yes they will, but in my town it will be pickups full of good-ol-boys patrolling for negros.

I live in a well armed, hardworking rural town about an hour from STL. Far enough to avoid the initial wave of looters. Any that trickle in better walk up unarmed and looking emaciated, else they're shot.

To better answer OP:
>we're already prepared
>shotguns by the doors, pistol always carried
>no plates or gear, if I leave the house it's cc only, casual as possible (insurgent mode)

If I lived 30 mins closer to downtown I would suit up with plates and belts. But out here you'd just be snipe-bait for deer rifles sticking out of every last window.

I have lever guns and old school high caliber revolvers. I shoot cowboy style competitively, not very good at it but I'm out there doing things.
I don't understand why your such a hater. You don;tthink normal people will miss the chance to string up all the degenerate sin thiier communities?
I can think of 3 junkies, a bunch of stoners and a few coal burners who will get what coming if shit ever hits the fans. It'll be one huge evening up the score period .

Such a hater
