This weekend (friday night - sunday morning) 3 friends and I went to Dawson Forest to do own own sort of STALKER challenge. Our main goal was to dig out the tunnel that goes into the underground facility and we did it. I'll post pics of the above ground stuff, the dig site, and the tunnel as the post timer lets me. Overall the hole was roughly 10 feet deep, someone had already dug about 3 feet when we got there, but we did 90% of the work. We didn't go to the hot cell house this time, we went there about this time last year and I can't find the pictures of that.
If you have any questions let me know and I'll be glad to answer them.

Picture of where we ate the first night. We got there at about 9 pm and dug until about 1 am. Got about 5 feet down the first night. Finding a camping spot was a pain in the ass and everywhere was either really creepy looking, the trees were to thin for hammocks, or it was on a hill. So we decided on a spot right next to the place we parked at. For some fucking reason some guys drove down and went off down another road at about 5:30 am and kept driving back and forth for about 3 hours, then starting shooting, which didn't stop until roughly 4 pm

Not sure we could fit a kayak in that tiny hole. Would take some serious work.

So hopefully this hole doesn't get filled in. I encourage local /k/ommandos to go and check it out and maybe widen the entrance for us or bring a raft and go through. The whole facility is 5 stories deep, but the bottom 4 are flooded because the pump station was shut down near the river.

Water is actually one of the best absorbers of excess radiation (especially the nasty types that can really hurt you). Why else would they use it in nuclear fuel pools? If radiation is safe on the surface, as long as you don't go down and touch a big glowing chunk of something, you'll be fine.

Last night we were camping about 200 yards south of the tunnel between these odd lookings ridges. They seemed to be an embankment for train tracks or something. Anyway one of my friends woke me up at about 4 saying he heard footsteps walking near our camp, but nothing came of it.

In '15, Cheeki and the Breekis released this, /k/ a magical place, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "The Slavshit Melody", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of guns, and the importance of digging, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.

Wait, you mean the signal ? The only FPV gear I'm talking about is a pair of FatShark goggles, you couldn't possible send a radio signal through the concrete.
I'd recommend grabing a really big lenght of paracord or any kind of rope really, and wrap the power and video cable around it. Sure, it could get tangled, but at least that isn't you stuck inna nuclear tunnel suing scuba gear.

There are other buildings near the front of the forest at the parking lot. You have to climb a barbed wire fence to get to them though. If you want to do it, go around the left side if you're looking at it from the parking lot and towards the end you'll see a tree close to the fence. Use that to climb it.

In terms of what to bring for the tunnel:
Lights obviously
chem lights to throw
gas masks
at least one gun
either a raft or waders
geiger counter if you have it
clothes you can trash
a backpack with water and food just in case
batteries

Get atleast 2 guns - Ear pro for everyone - because if you were to shoot in a tunnel like that, it would wreck your hearing.

Also it would be a good idea to have a flashlight for your guns too.

A geiger counter would be nice too - you are going in a potentially radioactive region.

Even if we get found, we could just call ourselves a volunteer group trying to renovate old shit.

I will. More people = more help

honestly there is a ton of room in the tunnel to pull the dirt down, away from the entrance. The hole is 10 feet down from ground level, so handing dirt up towards the end with a shovel took two people.
>>27700042
That's not gunna work haha
>>27700049
Haven't seen any, but as long as we have WMA permits, gun are ok
>>27700052
Also yeah this. That's why we dug at night when we got there. Ended up digging through the next day, but no one bothered us.

yeah but you don't want to risk that 10 foot wall collapsing inward with someone down there. it could reseal the hole for long enough for them to suffocate while you guys try to dig them out.

True, right now the hole is very stable. It's red clay, so it's all hard packed and the wall is slightly angled outward. There's a lot of room to move. The best thing to do right now would be to lengthen and widen the outside hole into the ground. Then widen and heighten the hole into the actual tunnel.
If you watched the 14 min video you can see how we got in and out.

honestly the pump house looks big enough to be made into a clubhouse/cabin for stalker themed camping trips. if i lived around there i would clean it out and remove the tagging.

yeah make the hole you have duge go all the way side to side and then slowly make a ramp but that would also end up letting more water in.

The pump house is cool, but the ceiling is like 5 feet high, maybe a little higher. It's also right next to the road.
>>27700115
The water isn't coming in from our hole, the water is coming from much deeper in the tunnel, so water getting in isn't that big of a deal.

"A raft is the preferred method of exploration in the water area. There are a few rooms at the end of the tunnel as it opens up into a larger area after passing the curve. There is an empty elevator shaft, staircases, old computer room with empty GE equipment racks, and a couple stripped rooms."

apparently there is some cool shit past the electrical box and water.
