The Last Psychiatrist

Do you think Alone's faking it? The alcoholism, the literal withdrawals from coffee, the "I don't sleep" thing, no one would actually hire someone as a forensic and clinical psychiatrist if he had all these problems, right?

I wanted to share this story from my Writing Composition class I am currently taking as a prerequisite. According to my professor, this student was a man in his 70s who would audit her class back in the mid to late 90s. He was very well-read and yet grew up poor. She shared this as an example in one of her classes Just curious as to what /lit/ thought of this? Also this might as well be a thread to share essays. Student essays are cool too.

COZY

Cozy books? As in, a book that makes you want to stay in your bed or a comfy chair near your fireplace (if you have), and gives you a feeling of being relaxed regardless of the message or theme of the book. I find that To The Lighthouse, The Waves, or even Brideshead Revisited gives me a feeling of cosiness.

Will /lit/ buy the new Kindle Voyage? http://www.amazon.com/High-Resolution-Display-Adaptive-PagePress-Sensors/dp/B00IOY8XWQ Too bad there are no updates to the PW yet. The Voyage is unnecessarily expensive.

How many words a day, does /lit/ write? I usually only muster 500 words daily, but am going to try and ratchet that up to a thousand soon. Whats your daily routine like when it comes to writing? Do you break it up or write all at once and then close shop for the day? AM or PM? Also, workstation thread. Pic related. Desk made by my great-grandfather in the 1950s.

> take college lit class > professor's a little off, but seems nice enough > be last one to leave the room and catch professor putting on his coat > pulls out fedora and struts out the door I didn't ask for this. What should I expect from him? It's and Oscar Wilde class btw.
