>I broke and reached him a flagon of De Grave. He emptied it at a breath. His eyes flashed with a fierce light. He laughed and threw the ?>bottle upwards with a gesticulation I did not understand. >I looked at him in surprise. He repeated the movement --a grotesque one. >"You do not comprehend?" he said. >"Not I," I replied. >"Then you are not of the brotherhood." >"How?" >"You are not of the masons." >"Yes, yes," I said; "yes, yes." >"You? Impossible! A mason?" >"A mason," I replied. >"A sign," he said, "a sign." >"It is this," I answered, producing from beneath the folds of my roquelaire a trowel. >"You jest," he exclaimed, recoiling a few paces. "But let us proceed to the Amontillado." based Poe

I've noticed radical leftist political theories often work out the economic implications of their theories and how to attain their desired changes, but I've noticed there are no theorists who study the everyday effects of a proletariat revolution. For example, who's going to run a restaurant if money is abolished? People enjoy restaurants (and unless someone successfully argues that this is a bourgeois illusion which would disappear after communism is achieved), and unless there's some sort of cash flow stopping people from eating out every meal things would just be confusing. I mean, how will waiters gain control of what they produce if their only existence is to produce for others? Are they going to wait on themselves? Do the chefs cook for themselves too? Then and waiters no longer exist, because if they're not serving others they're just people making food, carrying it to their own tables, and eating it themselves. Which everyone does. And on (colective, no -caps allowed) anarchism - who's going to investigate crime? Who would (pardon the stereotype) build the roads? Who would be scientists if there are no states or corporations to fund them? I doubt all these could be achieved entirely through mutual aid, but there were no cops in Athens and I doubt the feds were handing Plato welfare checks. In short - theory is lacking practicality.

King Lear - Shakespeare

Hi everyone. Has anyone here read King Lear by Shakespeare? I need some assistance writing a 150-word answer to this question "Why does Edgar lower himself as far as he does? Even if something can come from nothing, why does Edgar debase himself this way?." I believe it's referring to how Edgar disguised himself as a madman (Poor Tom). I'm hoping some of you guys can provide me some insight to this.

Delirium arises, and sorrow falls on me. Though I dont care, for my body and brain are here, but my mind is elsewhere. Off and away to some place; A better place, where cares are a distant thought. Just me, in the clouds, far and away from the real world. A better place, where i can look down and laugh at all the everyday concerns. It bothers me not, for i am not there: A part of that world. But its lonely up here. I use to be gentle. Now i am merely tangible, and hardly so. I exert no force, and can withstand none similarly. I feel as if all form of contact pass directly though me. I am, and once was gentle, but this state of non-existence, tangible intangibility is not gentle. Myself, like the world i have created in my mind is not real. I am a facade of static ambition and desire. I am a fruitless tree, and even my brittle leaves are poison to the earth, when they fall from my broken branches. Despite this, i would pray that my heartwood is still firm and pure. This sentiment is purely internal, for all of my thoughts are held inside. The manner in which i communicate to the world is broken. I may as well be rot. And as far as i know, I am. I know this, yet my only grace is that nobody else does, or ever will. . Hello .

Anyone else read this book and, if so, what're your thoughts? I thought it was great, especially for such a new book.
