So I have just read this, and while I did enjoy it, I can't help but think that if it didn't say Bret Easton Ellis on the cover or wasn't "sequel" to Less Than Zero no one would care. In fact I think it would probably be even better as standalone book. Anyway BEE general I guess.

https://www.marxists.org/ How have you been studying Marx recently? Is there still a study group on this board that has been reading Marxist works?

I'll be brief and to the point, /lit/. This is my first time here among you after many years, and my question is simple: do you know where I could either read online or download the novel "The Devil in Love" by Jacques Cazotte, but in English? I've checked the IRC channel already, it only has it in German, for some reason.

hey /lit/ What do you think of James Franco getting a Phd in English at Yale? Do you think he has serious creative chops or is he a dilletante that got on based on his name? I haven't read Palo Alto to have an opinion either way but judging the crap MFA students produce I am not holding my breath. I haven't seen many of his films either (acting or directed), are they of creative/critical merit?

dear /lit/ There are many infographics and wiki entries for /lit/ literature. There was some upload at anonfiles which is now defunct. Has someone a bundle download available for the /lit/ starter pack? I can't find it. I need it in the case I end up in the middle of nowhere and only got my ereader. (And backup battery.) Mother russia would be grateful. And myself of course. In exchange I offer squirrels eating pizza. I got a lot of squirrels eating pizza as a reward.

anybody else nearly complete their undergraduate education only to realize that there's no fulfillment in white-collar work and you're better off living modestly with a relatively simple job that requires nothing more than a high school diploma?

I suppose this might be the most pleb kind of thread here, but I want to read the LOTR books and The Hobbit. I've never read them before and I've only seen one of the movies a decade ago. Which edition should I buy? I'm looking around and there's so many versions. Some have extra drawings or notes or revisions or other bullshit. I just want the best one. If there's a more "complete" one, then I might as well do it right and read that one.

>you will have heard of Stirner's book, The Ego and Its Own...And it is certainly true that we must forst make a cause our own, egotistic cause...we are communists out of egoism also, and it is out of egoism that we wish to be human beings, not mere individuals. This is what Friedrich Engles said to Karl Marx on the 19th November 1844. Is this compatible with egoism?
