Not sure if you guys can help but I don't know where else to ask.
Due to a friend of a friend I obtained like 800 (and that's an educated guess. I'd say at least 600) issues of national geographic magine that go back to like the 1940s. They had been kept in booksshelves in a garage this whole time and I'm concerned about book mites or insects/spiders inside of them.
How can I disinfect them and clean them? Can magzine pages even carry stuff like paper mites and shit since the material is sorta laminated? Can I fumigate them? Preservation is a huge concern, and was pretty much the only eason I got them: I didn't want the person to give them to goodwill because I figured that such a collection would get split up and damaged.
So, tips, links to further info, etc?
