Dune doesn't get nearly enough love on this board. I'm on Heretics right now and I'm loving it. still. God Emperor was GOAT. >Did you read past the first one? Which did you like? >Anybody like his son's stuff? There are some out there who do. Also, do you think the popularity of the series in on the decline? I don't think the younger generations are picking it up.

Hey /lit/, I've got a question. In my opinion it seems like the myths we have in our current age are incompatible with the issues and goals we deal with. We spend so much time trying to destroy our old myths (religion, for example. And I'm using myth not to be fedoracore but to symbolise stories we use to reflect social themes and the like) without filling the void with new ones. In the rare instances that we DO try to fill that void we're merely updating those old myths to fit our narrative (like the subtle rekindling of interest in Catholicism and religious aesthetics as a counter-revolution against fedoras) instead of fabricating new ones to fit our circumstances. Do we need new myths and, more to the point, what myths do you think they should be? What themes would you include in them? (I'll be using a temporary namefag alias just for this thread for the sake of discussion)

ITT we wait for Godot.

Would you kill yourself if you couldn't read and write anymore ? This question was asked by Rilke to Kappus. Kappus didn't respond, but Rilke knew both of their answers. What about you ?

What exactly is wrong with cynicism? When did cynicism ever kill anybody, as opposed to deathly idealism and ideology? Why is "cynic" the go-to insult for seeing abstract problems?

causality is an illusion your existence is really just a arbitrary collection of events in spacetime like points on a curve and it makes no sense to say point 'a' causes point 'b' that which you call your life is really just a simple geometric object it's not that anything that ever will happen has already happened so much as anything that eve will happen simply exists

/lit/'s new and improved book and writers poll. Thread #2

46 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
As of now 261 votes have been cast. Thank you everyone who has voted so far. In this poll you will not only vote for your favorite books but also your favorite writers. Everyone can vote for 3 different books and 3 different writers. But you cannot vote for the same book or writer multiple times and remember to state the name of the author of the book to avoid confusion. Link to the poll: http://goo()gl/forms/W78cRcuodO Replace the () with a "." The poll will be open until the 22nd of october. You have to have a google account to participate in order to prevent everyone from voting multiple times. >>7209673 Here's the thread that was made earlier Pic related are the current results of the poll I'm in love with you /lit/
