http://www.browndailyherald.com/2015/10/19/bewes-ravindranathan-zizeks-hypocrisy/ /lit/ I normally don't shitpost, but I honestly can't help myself. I found this gem of an article over at the Brown Herald Daily by two professors about Zizek's lecture at their college. I can't believe that two educators at a university could not only miss entirely Zizek's point, but then go forward to publish a semi-academic critique about said misunderstanding. Basically they say that he is a racist and trivializes the struggle of others by using jokes to get his point across. I know it is a meme that Zizek always calls for inaction, but ironically these fine people are literally forcing Slavoj into a complete state of inaction. How is he going to break down racist and hierarchical institutions by not mocking them? Answer that you english professors. Anyways, read the article if you anons want to become enraged.

Ok /lit/, I just recently got back into reading and this book is highly recommended. I'm about 30 pages in but I'm still confused as to what is going on. The story keeps moving from scene to scene and it's hard to keep track of things. I can sort of understand the perspective is from Benjy (Maury?) who is retarded but that's about it. Am I missing something?

write a quick paragraph or something just off the top of your head. no editing beyond spellcheck and write it out as quickly as possible in one short block I'll start; In the days since the start of the New Era we have learned quite a lot from studying the words of our ancestors, tales passed down through the generations since the time of the great fire which consumed all the world. That was eons ago it seems now and the land is green once again, though I can still recall inn the faintest of my memories the sickly red of the trees and flesh hanging of the bones of desperate and deranged animals. That time thankfully remains little more than a memory for me now, and for the youth it seems little more than a scary story to be told around campfires, spooking one another with tales of beasts who walked like men, beasts who could talk our words and whisper into are darkest fantasies as we slipped off to our dark and lonely sleep. I smile as I hear these children’s stories, as I know it was ones I who was in there place telling the same ones myself. Deep in the back of my mind however, in the base of my spine I can feel that creeping sensation. That indescribable, unknowable fear handed down to us from the ancient past as in my heart of hearts I knew that these stories from the Red Years were far more than that…
