So /lit/, when you read. Do you be focusing on one book at a time, or multiple ones whenever you feel like it? And if you read multiple books, would they be of a different genre? Does it even matter? Also, how many books out of 10 will you actually finish?

How about some fun. We take old saying/phrases etc and translate them for a more modern ear and vice-versa. e.g. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" = "Bitches be crazy"

What's up /lit/ Just got finished with Diaz' This Is How You Lose Her. It was decent, a few brilliant stories sandwiched between some more mediocre ones. However, I loved Drown and Oscar Wao, so I'm looking for more reading that's similar to Diaz' work in spirit, either short stories or longer works. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Been reading a lot of Hemingway lately, and there's two things that make him my favorite author: iceberg theory, and his talent at making great male protaganists. Any other authors, who genuinely accomplish this as well? (No dickriders, I don't wanna read any 'For who the bell rings for'"

>Samuel R Delany >Dhalgren Is reading this book worth it? I'm not normally one to consider whether or not to start reading a book but it's pretty fucking long and I am going to be very busy soon, so I wanted to know your thoughts. Similarly, are there better books by Delany that I should be reading instead?

Sup /lit/. At work we do a secret santa thing and secret santa gave me a 30 dollar visa gift card. I ordered a few books off Amazon with it but for some reason Amazon will not accept the payment method. So I'm headed to books a million soon. They never have any books I want which is why I almost exclusively buy books online. So I'm asking for suggestions from you guys on what to buy. I'll call and make sure they have it first. Anything and everything is acceptable

http://www.booksandgames.net/wordpress/ Could there really be a legitimate contrast between Video Games and Fiction? I don't really see how clearly, but in terms of immersing yourself into a stroy Video Games have the 1UP. Does /lit/ agree? pic unrelated

Hey /lit/, I'm looking for a good book series/good book that features the "Humans are Warriors" trope (and, if possible, a link to a .pdf of the book)
