/lit/, please share with me some embarrassing encounters you've had with plebs on the subject of literature and reading. Sometimes it's just nice to feel absolutely awful.

/lit/ is a slow board, think before you decide to kill a thread by making a new one. Need a book rec and too stupid to check the wiki? Ask here. Have a banal question and can't use google? Ask here. Have a question that you won't think will generate much discussion? Ask here.

I've been planning on writing a series of novels that spend the lifespan of a handful of characters but I can never understand how to keep it all together. How does someone like GRRM keep track of all the characters/their backgrounds, and setting/s, etc? Do people like that write it all down beforehand in detail such as what part a specific character plays, etc? Pic unrelated btw.

What did he mean by this?

Are there any high school english teachers on here? I've realized at 23 that I'll have to eventually take on a wagecuck existence and am considering this path. It seems like it could be a lot of fun, and you get summers and winter breaks for travel and writing. Thoughts?

Is there a book about the author writing the same book and we're reading it?

Are there any romanians here on /lit/? I'm looking for the best your literature has to offer. I'm not too keen on poetry because my Romanian is basic, so recs for novels would be ideal. I've read a short story anthology including likes such as Sadoveanu, Ion Creanga, Bratescu-Voinesti, Vlahutza, Caragiale etc. and appreciated it very much to not ask for more.

How do I go about writing? I have a fantastic story idea, but I want to go through with it to the end and not fuck it up/give up midway. What's some good prep/motivator to do it?

Which one of you did this?
