So Allen Ginsberg was a paedophile? Apparently he was a member of NAMBLA and supported the rights of men to have relationships with young boys. That's pretty fucked up, he was always my least favourite Beat writer anyway. Opinions?

Essential anarchist fiction

159 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
Since some Stormfag /pol/tard has started a thread on "essential nationalist literature" I thought it a good idea to have a thread on essential anarchist *fiction*. There's plenty of great anarchist political science, and I'm sure we've all read Conquest of Bread, ABCs of Anarchism, God and the State, and so on. I'm more interested in seeing whether there's any good anarchist, anti-nationalist *fiction* which I've missed reading. My list of essential anarchist fiction: - The Dispossessed by Ursula K. LeGuin - The entire Elric saga by Michael Moorcock, as well as his Nestor Makhno alternate history stories like The Steel Tsar - V for Vendetta (the graphic novel) by Alan Moore - Good Omens by Terry Patchett and Neil Gaiman; not sure if people would consider it explicitly anarchist, but it's definitely humanist and anti-authoritarian (Please don't post any Ayn Rand crap here. There is no such thing as "anarcho-capitalism." Capitalism is classist, and anarchism has no social classes by definition.)

I've just finished with chapter 5 of Godel, Escher, Bach and I'm really diggin it so far but I feel like I'm not getting everything I should out of it. I'm grasping the concepts finely enough but some of the examples elude me a bit and I feel as if I'm skipping ahead a bit because I'm too excited to see where he goes next. I also feel like maybe these chapters are supposed to be a bit barebones to frame later topics? Should I just make sure I gasp the central idea of every chapter and move on for now? Also are there any accompanying works, chapter summaries, blog posts, whatever the hell that would be good to go along with it. Thanks /lit/.

Official Unofficial John "The Meme" Green Quarantine Supreme #3: The Last Meme

Please confine all John Green hate to this thread. Post quotes and shit if ya want. Anything minor that doesn't need its own thread should go here. Anything major should go here as well, frankly. Just as long as it's a meme & it's supreme, it's welcome here, ya hear? Treat this thread like the orphanage you were sent to when your mom abandoned you on the street. C'mon guys, admit it, we may hate him on the inside but we all know he's our secret mascot.

So is Trump the first post-modern candidate? No trolling. Never have we had a politician so free from ideology. Free from ideas themselves, even. Everyone else is playing with shadows on the wall while Trump makes a new truth and a new world.

Is the Sabbath truly meant to be on a Saturday and not a Sunday like the Seventh Day Adventists claim? Did the first Christians hold the Sabbath on Saturday or Sunday? If it is meant to be on a Saturday why was it moved to Sunday? And does God truly care which day of the week you hold the Sabbath or so long as you set aside one day of the week as the Sabbath?
