What are some authors whose works you initially liked, but started to like significantly less the more you learned about said author? I was once a huge Lovecraft horror fan, but when I learned that he was a raging racist I couldn't help but lose an immense amount of respect for both him and his works.

Any books where the protagonist falls in love with a woman he doesn't know and stubbornly pursues her in spite of that?

Having a thread series going through Phenomenology of the Spirit. Starting around this Christmas. Hegel's work is extremely technical, and uses minimal poetic style, figures of speech, or visual references to convey ideas. It's almost total abstraction (like mathematics). Those who don't have a lot of background in Aristotle and the German Idealists tend to have the toughest time with this sort of work, and so if you want help getting through it, now is your chance. Just make sure you have your copy by Christmas. We'll read a portion every week, and then it will be gone over in detail and discussed and explained.

Cuckolding in Literature

Hey /lit/, I need some recs on some books about cuckolds/ing. It doesn't have to be the main theme but it should play a huge element on the story. Also, some genuine cuckolded authors would be appreciated.

Order of reading?

Hi /lit/, I picked these up for a tenner from a second hand book shop. Which is the best order to read them in? Which books would you recommend I add to these? I'm generally interested in the classical world but all I've read from the period is meditations so far.

What's your favorite part of the Bible, /lit/? For me, it's the opening of the gospel of John. The whole "light shining in the darkness" thing makes me tear up because it describes a lot of my life feeling like a darkness where's there's just a tiny light that never goes out.

>men write some of the most beautiful poetry, create the most beautiful paintings and dedicate songs to women and love >women write 50 shades of grey, albums like jagged little pill and create articles about how they hate men Really makes you think, doesn't it?
