Why do normie retards cite this as an argument against suicide when it's so fucking dumb? >DUDE JUST IMAGINE SISYPHUS IS HAPPY DESPITE HIS HELLISH EXISTENCE AND HIM AGONIZING TO DIE EVERY MINUTE OF HIS LIFE No. Sisyphus is not fucking happy. What Camus wants you to do is live your life based on a lie. To pretend that someone like Sisyphus is happy when he is clearly not. It is living life in a bad faith. After reading it, I am convinced that suicide is even a more logical decision than before.

What universities are good for English in the UK then? I'm thinking UCL, don't really fancy Oxbridge. I want to avoid as much literary theory as I possibly can. Thanks Fish swim in the lake and don't even own clothes

Write what's on your mind

What did you think of the last few books you read?

The Fugitives - Panoz Karnesiz - average Woes of the True Policemen - Roberto Bolano - good The Insufferable Gaucho - Roberto Bolano - average Rabbit is Rich - John Updike - average Some books that were so-so, although I really enjoyed WOTTP, which is a spin-off of 2666. Rabbit is Rich was an improvement on Run and Redux, thankfully. The Fugitives was pretty disappointing, since The Birthday Party is a brilliant book. What have you been reading the last few weeks? Good or bad? Also, how is this board doing? I haven't been here in months.

“Marry, and you will regret it; don’t marry, you will also regret it; marry or don’t marry, you will regret it either way. Laugh at the world’s foolishness, you will regret it; weep over it, you will regret that too; laugh at the world’s foolishness or weep over it, you will regret both. Believe a woman, you will regret it; believe her not, you will also regret it… Hang yourself, you will regret it; do not hang yourself, and you will regret that too; hang yourself or don’t hang yourself, you’ll regret it either way; whether you hang yourself or do not hang yourself, you will regret both. This, gentlemen, is the essence of all philosophy.” What did he mean by this?

Is it acceptable for writers to incorporate aspects of cultures outside of their own into their writing? Where is the dividing line between a respectful use of other cultures and cultural appropriation?
