I'm in one of the better e-book private trackers. If you've been looking for a book I'll see if they have it and upload it. Include what format you want.

Poetry translation from Italian

Hi guys, I'm Italian mother tongue, and I was thinking about starting a project of translating a minor Italian poet in English. I've tried with a small piece of one of his works. I'm not a real expert in the English language, nor a professional translator, but I wanted to give it a try. If you want to read it and give me some advice, it will be very appreciated. Bye

Never been on /lit/ before so excuse a newfag. I have always loved books, and used to read a lot of poems when I was a child, mainly Spike Milligan. But I haven't really read any for years. Could you recommend any 'must read' poems, or maybe any anthologies/books containing lot's of decent poems? Pic unrelated, but Dumas is my favourite author.

Are there any works of Japanese animation not made by Hayao Miyazaki that you would consider worthwhile? I've heard some very good things about Grave of the Fireflies, but apart from that the medium looks pretty trashy. What works of anime would you consider beautiful and meaningful? Pic related was incredible, you need to see it, especially if you're a cynical bastard like I am.

10 short stories is nice for a 300 page collection.

Isn't it? Rather than 40 or 50 really short pieces. 10 stories, a mix of short stories and novellas. Oh God. What am I talking about? But it is a nice way to compose a collection, I think?

Dear /lit/zens, hello. I need your help. I'm looking for a nice German book. It's been a fair while since the last time I went through a German literary journey, and now, well, I notice I'm not even able to read an article at ease. Thus, I suppose it's time to get back to the grind. In this great enterprise, I need a nice novel. Not too difficult, nor the German Harry Potter equivalent. The last novel I read in German was Die Andere Seite (Kubin). But the best remains Der Mann ohne Eigenschaften (Musil). Even though, I must admit, I read it partially in German. It's a damn big book, so I opted for the French version, and read from time to time German excerpts. I said this so that you can somehow identify my tastes. So, now you have any recommandation? Thank you very much. I owe you one.

What does /lit/ think? I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I personally believe Moore's best work is long behind him.

Hi /lit/, I am just curious on your opinions on which conditions you would permit the use of violence. Pacifist? Only for self defence? Defence of family? How far would you go? I was going to use an on topic pic but realised it may sway your opinion. Thanks for your time

Anyone on here read The Bhagavad-Gita ? I have 'as it is' version. A monk gave it to me today. I'm reading the verses only first, Prabhupada's annotations seem to give a lot of opinion even though he is credited with having written the most objective version.. Since many influential and well known people found joy in it, I thought I'd give it a shot. What did you make of it? The monk found enlightenment. I told him he's probably just afraid of death
