Part 6 of 2666 has finally been released. I can't believe it. How the HELL did I not know my favourite postmodern book had another section released? I mean, I knew Part 6 existed, but didn't know it was gonna be released. Has anyone read this? Fuck. it's called Woes of the True Policeman, for some reason, but it's definitely part of 2666.

I literally just discovered this, 5 minutes ago.

How has nobody posted here? The only acceptable answer is if they're too busy off buying and reading the book, but I think we all know that isn't the case. Why don't people care? This is the best literary news I've heard in months.

But there are a few Bolano fans on /lit/. Last night, I saw someone asking about The Savage Detectives. 2666 is still slightly popular here.

I was more excited when I heard about Bleeding Edge. Hell, I was more excited when I heard about Murakami's new book.

I second this. Please do as this fine gentleman says and kill yourself, tripfag.

How heavily edited, though? I mean, if it took nine years for them to release it. Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

Also, I'm looking for an online link right now. I already bought the three-volume first English edition, so I feel like I'm entitled to the whole book. I'll report back if I find anything.

I didn't know Murakami had a new book out. I was just on his Wiki, as well.

Three volume? Can you elaborate?

The English edition I have splits the five sections into three physical volumes. Also:

>What is unclear is whether he would have wanted such unfinished material published. "2666" was a (basically) completed book when the author died, its five parts having been delivered to the publisher in Spain. There had been speculation when the manuscript of "Woes of the True Policeman" was found that it formed a sixth part of "2666." It certainly isn't that.

Can't find it in any of the usual haunts. I'm guessing it doesn't exist in the wild yet.

Also hello from the long-long ago. Remember when /lit/ was good?

Sunhawk 2013-02-20 19:59:05 No.3489662

Where is the greentext part from? Also, you can buy the book on amazon.co.uk.

I remember when /lit/ was good. 2011 and late 2010 were great times for it, but then the board slowed down to literally a quarter its previous speed, and now is not so good.
