So, this game is officially out of beta...
Is anyone on /m/ playing it on the regular? Is there a clan? ...do clans even work?
Is this game bullshit? Or badass? I'm on the fence.
On the one hand, it looks great, feels great to stomp around in, the game really FEELS like a great mecha sim. And building a new mech from the ground up and testing it is awesome.
On the other hand, there's only a few maps (with some time of day or seasons variants), two game modes, and it doesn't seem like they've added much as far as Conquest or Social gaming goes.
What do you think, /m/?

The last 70's and 80's mecha thread have reached it's image limit and is unable to fill its purpose. So, we'll let him rest in peace and summon this new 70's & 80's mecha thread in order to keep the legacy going. If you weren't there when it was still in a good shape, just check the last thread here : >>9581226 and get all the stuff you can before it go away for the eternity, forcing you to dig in various archives...
Most of you already know the rules, right? If not, here's what this thread is for: argue, discuss and dump stuff like artworks, fanarts (if they're well made of course), sketches, magazines' scans, artbooks, DVD/VHS/LD/CD/BD's covers, ads, musics, screencaps and so on, that have a link to a Sci-Fi and Mecha anime/comic/novel/film/OVA.
Here are a few links to interesting websites:

Okay. So I just finished Eureka Seven AO, and I am just... totally lost. I feel like every two episode they dropped the entire writing staff, and the new writers had to try and piece together a new plot arc for the show from the post it notes left behind by the previous guys, rinse and repeat.
Plot plotlines everywhere. Characterization that flip flops back and forth. Elena straight up admits to people that she is crazy, has been living a lie, is from another world, and has straight up murdered a person... and everyone just pretends they didn't hear her say that. While trusting her with a powerful and expensive military machine. Hell, even the staff of Nerv would at least look appalled by that before making Shinji get back in the fucking robot, and we didn't even get that.
But my real question, the one that I seriously hope someone has an answer for, is what the flying fuck IS the quartz gun?
It rewrites time and shit, according to rules we don't really understand. I think I could deal with that. But it literally builds itself out of quartz, unprompted. Its design and color scheme is obviously an imitation of AO's Nirvash. It aims itself, flies around under its own power, and otherwise takes actions without user input from anyone. It WANTS to be used. It very clearly has its own mind and its own goals, and we have no idea what the hell those are or where it came from.
Renton says he has been looking for it, but how the hell would he even know it exists? He is never in the same timeline as it until the last couple episodes. He cant have built it and then lost it somehow, because it built itself out of Quartz.
Seriously, this thing is just deus ex machine and in form and function. Is there something I missed here?

Am I the only one who didn't enjoy reading Crossbone Gundam? It didn't have interesting characterization, plots, or themes, the art style is weird/bad, and so all it had going for it was some sorta-badass action, which is not why the primary thing I enjoy from gundam works.
at least it has that bird.......
