Mobile Suit Gundam Online General
"Mr. Beargguy Edition"
Previous thread >>9903210
The game is about to hit its first birthday. Happy birthday, Gundam Online!
Current EX Event:
Christmas Beargguy Event. Your green EX tickets give you a chance of receiving a rental Beargguy (original, not Beargguy III from Build Fighters). There are two color variants -- brown for Zeon, white for EFSF. There are also special Christmas themed apparel items for the Pilot Coordinate, including Santa hats and clothes, reindeer headbands, and jingle bell chokers. The event goes through the beginning of the year and the items are temporary so people won't go 'M... MUH REALISTIC ONE YEAR WAR SIMULATOR'. Have fun!
Current DX Event:
All previous DX Gashacon are currently available. If you missed getting a Gelgoog or a Prototype Gundam, this may be your chance to do it. This ups the arms race, by the way. March of the ProtoGuns is here.

/m/ how close do you think Gundam Build Fighters is to becoming reality? Honestly, I'd think not that far provided we have similar technology, and if this was to become a real thing, it could take one of two routes.
The first route, a bit farfetched, but close, thanks to an Autodesk program known as 123D Catch. The model could be scanned by a camera on a display, and generate the model. Infrared scanning could also do this, but it wouldn't be able to take the texture. Automatic rigging also exists thanks to Mixamo. Only thing is, the game server, or place, would need a parts catalog to give the parts and Mobile Suit the correct stats and animation sets. Virtual Cockpit Pods already exist for Gundam games, however most might end up preferring a KB/M setup or controller. If KB/M or Controller setup, this supports the idea that it could be a game played at home, provided you bought the base and camera.
The second one, a bit more limiting, but more reasonable. Gunpla would come with codes to redeem to your account to the game, and you build/mix/mach your Gunpla in that game. It'd be up to you if you wanted it to look like your custom Gunpla, or not. Think of Gundam Breaker pretty much, but with a bit more free range on part customization, say head, left shoulder, right shoulder, left arm, right arm, chest, legs, booster/pack, weapons, and even more custom paint (think TrackMania style) and except you unlock parts via codes, not drops.
What version would you prefer? Would you actually play it? If you're not in Gunpla already, would it get you into it? Is OP a fag?

The last thread can no longer receive any picture, so here's this new and fresh thread to talk and share stuff about 70's and 80's mecha and Sci-Fi related Animes, comics&mango, magazines, novels. You have been absent, could not access to your computer, or have been missing, kidnapped by aliens? Hurry and get everything you can from the last thread here >>9935185 before it's completely forgotten (well, not completely).
Most of you already know the rules, right? If not, here's what this thread is for: argue, discuss and dump stuff like artworks, fanarts (if they're well made of course), sketches, magazines' scans, artbooks, DVD/VHS/LD/CD/BD's covers, ads, musics, screencaps and so on, that have a link to a Sci-Fi and Mecha anime/comic/novel/film/OVA.

Well, I just finished Escaflowne, and I enjoyed the ride. The show really up'd the scale in terms of epicness in the later half, but at the same time it felt lacking. It felt so rushed with the whole romantic conclusion between Van and Hitomi. Also, the ending sucks balls and makes no sense.
So, /m/ care to share views and such regarding this classic anime?

So /m/, since the previous threads have died out, lets talk about this game.
Haven't finished it yet, just got the liege geos, so just one more push.
Overall, the game would have really benefited from more playable units. Giving Shu maximum break was useless for more than half the game, since there were to little units, and it would just be better to just surround the enemies for the 10% bonus.
Unlike OG gaiden, which resolved a lot of ends like the duminass plot, the shuras and the final battle with shu, this game felt like pure filler.
Shu's route could have been done in 15 or less stages. This just shows that they DIDN'T learn anything from the las gias stages in 2nd OG.
Well, at least the animations are top notch, the granzon/neo granzon is beast, and selena's stuff still bounce.
Yon also gives us the latooni that was butchered in OG2. They better keep her persona instead of being relegated to a shitty mech as a babysitter.
