ITT: Feminism.

>Lauren Faust is an outspoken pseudo Feminist and apparently so is everyone else who helps create the show. You can see this clearly in almost every episode:
>snips and snails
>Male antagonists are killed, turned to stone, etc.
>Female antagonists Are banished, redeemed, other 'slap on the wrist' type things.
The only stallion of equal treatment and intelligence is Shining armor, and he's been in 3 episodes.
Feminism is a view of hate and inequality, and we're okay with this?
Trust me, I love this show as much as you horse fuckers do, but doesn't it bother you that writers like Lauren Faust paint an image of males as ponies like snips and snails?
What does /mlp/ think of this?

Jesus Christ, I hate it when people bring realism into a cartoon show about pastel coloured horses.

But sure lets bring in some realism. Judging from a google search, horses generally have more females than males in a herd. So of course Equestria is going to be some what female centric. That being said stallions IRL apparently do have plenty of sway and influence within the herd. So if this show was going for realism it would be a matriarchal society with an emphasis on stallions.

There have been plenty of competent males, Big Mac, Shining Armor, Braeburn, Featherweight come to mind. And plenty of terrible female characters.

I really like the fact that the show has *never* had a gender roles episode where we learn the girls can do stuff just as well as those mean old boys. And thank god for that. It's an improvement on where most shows are currently at.

But Snips and snails are just a play on the age old statement and used as comedic relief, not as serious paintings of the male gender.

I would say banished is pretty harsh for a punishment and generally the use of more harsh punishments such as death or being turned to stone are merely coincidences as to deciding whether the character is to be male or not.

Though to be fair with you, Faust is a crazy feminazi and as much as she would like to depict men as lessers, she really never seems to get the chance due to the lack of male characters in the show. I can agree that Iron Will is probably the most blatant use of feminism and depicting men as lowers, but the abundance of female antagonists compared to males should be enough to show that there isn't an overwhelming bias within the show's content. The biggest use of feminism in the show for me derives from Big mac's character as he's shown in what is unarguably the most positive light and all he does is do the heavy lifting and hardly speaks, if only to agree with female characters or defend them. This could also be attributed again to the general lack of regular male characters in the show, but it's still a giant nuisance.

Despite popular opinion and advertisement, MLP:FiM is not really a show for girls. A daily slice of life with an all-female cast with a singular male character has been done in Japan, examples are Chuunibyou, Clannad, and K-ON, just to name a few. Despite the slow pace and story-driven plot surrounded by females, they are a guy's show, same as what we see MLP FiM here today. The fact that the directors of the show are male and Faust had been ejected early on backs this claim. So what we have here is really a guy's show being sold as a girl's show and feminists can GTFO. :)

As far as I can remember, there was exactly one (1) sexist comment made by any character in the show.

At the end of Ticket Master, Episode 3, which was right after the pilot, Spike appears to be sick after the Mane 6 all get their tickets from Celestia. Applejack makes the comment, something like this:

>"Well, isn't that just like a boy. Can't handle a bit of sentiment!"

Upon rewatching the series, I saw this and realized that this was a bit of extra-divisive feminism leaking through, before the writers really got rolling. It's not a huge deal, but it was telling.

And upon that day, Faust was confirmed to be one chill bro, or sister if that's the female term for bro.

>Women are not expected to put out, that's why rape is illegal
If women don't put out in response to compliments or favors, they are considered frigid.
>Men aren't allowed sex either. Besides, Puritanism is the most retarded religion in existence.
Many forms of sexuality are still much more acceptable for men. Not queer sexuality as much as for women, but men are allowed to openly discuss sexual attraction without being shunned by anyone.

>If women dress in ways that they know is considered sexually attractive, some men will expect them to want sex, but most of those men are mentally damaged or criminals.
I don't think this is a contradiction.

From TV Tropes:
According to the Old Shame page, this ep has been regretted by Lauren Faust, who feels the concept of feminism is too serious to be discussed properly on a kid's show.

So yeah, Lauren Faust confirmed for feminist.

Only by complete doucebags or guys who believe all romance plays out like a bad porno movie.
>Many forms of sexuality are still much more acceptable for men.
No they aren't.
>men are allowed to openly discuss sexual attraction
So are women. You just choose not to.

>I don't think this is a condition
The human brain is programmed to want permission before sex. If somebody has sex without permission, there's something wrong with their brains.

>Owns supermodel trophy wife
>Good guy

Yeah good thing Lauren Faust left. She would never have allowed such a positive male character.

I don't believe you can list even one. This is a challenge. Do not waste your time if you're just going to say "u w0t m8" without contributing anything.

Revise your post to contain fewer assumptions. Read: none at all. You cloud your mind with delusions.

And Filthy Rich too. Someone said that the only reason people take him seriously is because he has a daughter but you gotta remember. Mare's are more common that stallions.

If men don't jump at the opportunity to have sex with a women who's willing to "put out", they are considered unmanly and weak.

If a man says he's not interested in sex, he will be shunned and mocked by his peers.

You are full of shit. Go die in a fire please.
