Gentrification, Appropriation, and Commercialization of Music

I find it odd how easily influenced /mu/ is. Music is consistently posted here that is overtly focused on profit-motive, that is buzzed by corporate publications, and is even used in commercials extensively. If you really care about musicians and music as an artform, then why do you spend so much time discussing Tame Impala, Jamie xx, and Kendrick Lamar? They aren't interested in music as an artform. Art has high ideals, high aspirations: it doesn't aspire to be on a billboard but simply to be appreciated. I think it's destructive to keep supporting such vapid posts and such vapid musicians. Work to support true musicians.
/mu/ makes an "beat tape" (i hope?)

dubs name songs
trips the title track, unless someone gets 31 first.
band name is 69, 43, or 18.
album art wil be made with any images that get 65, 71, or 20
being a beat tape you should put the most work into the beat. songs should be 2-6 minutes but a little more won't hurt, and a little less might go too.
if you see a track title you like, tell me and then write it.
we'll have a listen-along once it's all done.
