I've been wondering.

What constitutes experimental music. Forget Wiki. What's experimental music to you? How is it different from Avant Garde.

When you see an album tagged as experimental does it pique your interest or turn you off?

I seem to think the notion of being experimental is inherently humble and the notion of being avant garde is inherently arrogant. That's just me though.

Avant-Garde
>Testing new rules or breaking old ones, usually I think in the realms of classical or jazz.

Experimental
>Total conjecture, "let's see if I like this." While possibly having some sort of genre or atmosphere in mind..
