goddamn third pair of jeans with huge holes in the sitbone area this year. I bought real Levi's this time instead of some gap store clearance shit thinking they would last longer, but their life was just as short (about 2.5 months). So I am considering ordering these "Levi's 505 commuter trousers" which are apparently designed for bicyclists. Some features are absurd (3M reflective pant legs, big loop on waist for a U-lock). I just need something that will last longer than 1000 miles in the ass area.

Scrolled 10 pages >no skate thread That's it /n/. I think there needs to be somewhere people can talk about skating with various devices that are attached to the feet. If you play roller/ice hockey, get in. If you aggressive rollerblade, get in. If you like disco, get in >Snowfags welcome because fuck it.

im in a dilemma here /n/ im in good shape, and have ridden a bike somewhat often the past 3 years. got in a crash recently and my bike is complete toast. so sold what wasnt fucked on craigslist for some spare cash. now im on a search for a new bike. heres the thing. i was wondering if its ok to only have a fixed gear. my intent is to use this as my main form of transportation as well as fitness rides every so often ive never ridden a fixed ever in my life, but trackstands and fixed control of my rear wheel seems like it can be really helpful at lights and in traffic. im not interested in fixied gear for hipster reasons because most people dont even own a bike around here. so, is this doable? or is it completly unrealistic/ too difficult to only use a fixed as main transport?

If I were to do some light touring (bike camping, you might say, with a max distance of 100 miles or so), what kind of saddle would you fellows recommend? I like a classic look, if that matters - got a lugged touring bike and would like something that'll keep it classy.

OK /n/.. I've been looking into purchasing my first road bike, I would eventually like to transition into Triathlons with a background in swimming, I know after a season or two doing triathlons, I will move to a Tri specific bike but for now a good entry level road bike will suffice. I have a few local shops around me that I have gone to and plan on buying from. The first shop sells a lot of Cannondale, and I looked at the CAAD8..the employees were telling me that they normally recommend going up 2 levels on the components, and quoted me at $1100 for a CAAD8 with Tiagra components. It is a little on the very high side of my price range, so I was considering the CAAD8 with Sora parts... Bike shop 2 showed me a FELT F85 they have, which has some 105 components, but has MicroShift front derailleur and shifters.. they want $1000 for it.. Do you guys think that the CAAD8 with Sora would keep me held over for a few seasons until I really decide which path I would like to go down? Or should I go with one of the others mentioned?

Hey /n/ Need some help. I'm going to buy a bike for fitness purposes. I have $1000 to spend on it. I have narrowed it down to 2 bikes. One is a road racing bike sold with no pedals and the other is a road commuter sold with standard pedals. Is it better to buy a commuter or a racer when its going to be used for fitness. I like the idea of not having to buy special shoes and clothes etc with the commuter but I'm worried I may regret not going with the racer. Any advice is appreciated.
