Filthy Casuals General

>trains are meh >bikes are alright tho >Forever Shinkansen's a bit of a wank >Seth Worthington whines too much Filthy Casuals are now registered as a racing team on Strava. Come one, come all! https://www.strava.com/clubs/filthycasuals So what's your casual ass doing today? I'm mixing a shitty whiskey and coke for breakfast. Then I'm going to ride down to the local mcdonalds to try and catch their breakfast menu, and then I'm going to head to the local outdoor velodrome to ride in circles. So I can get Dem Strava Points, and lessen my chances of hitting someone on the road. What're your pla/n/s?

/n/, Why do modern airline liveries suck so much? They're all a bunch of postmodern crap and they're all starting to look the same. The new mega-merger United, American, and Delta liveries all use that greyish color and a similar font. Pic related, now that's a fucking livery.

How to stop a thief

When riding back home i decided i get me some dinner. When riding back from the restaurant thru the park a guy in a hodie with a cellphone in one hand came out of a turn almost hitting me. Ok nothing special it happens all the time. We barely passed by and went our separate ways. But something was awkward. After stopping on the next red light i realized what. In other hand which he steered paralell to the handlebar he was also holding picture related. Now im pretty sure he was a bike thief althrough the bike didnt look like it was worth much. My main question is what should i do when i see someone like him again ? Stop him ? How ? Beat him up take the bike (althrough this would proppably end horribly for me ) and what do whith it ? How to find real owner of the bike ? In other words what would you do /n/ ? Please take this serious, since i have a real moral hangover right now.

Big Guys & Bikes

/n/, I'm a big guy and I hear that you have to buy special bikes when you're above a certain height/weight. I'm 6'4" and just short of 300lbs. Any tips for buying a decent starter bike?

Flat-bar levers for dual pivot caliper brakes?

14 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
So, I want to switch my dropbars for a riser or a flatbar. Why? I switched it out with an iron handlebar just to test the concept and found it to be much more comfortable. It made me 3km/h faster or so, so that is also a pro. However, I used v-brake levers during this experiment and found out they grip the rims a lot sooner, but they're not nearly as strong as the cheap dropbar levers I own. So I'm left wondering: what would be a good, inexpensive flatbar lever for use with dual pivot brakes such as pic related? I'm thinking of SRAM BL700, but is there anything that is cheaper and does the same thing, i.e: a "fixie lever"?

Hi /n/ Where can I get such a bicycle helmet? How much do they cost? How effective are they blocking out the sun, but not the environment?

Good entry level bikes? I know nothing at all about bikes, but I'd be using it to travel across the city (NYC) mainly during the drier seasons. Went to a shop and a guy recommended getting a hybrid, but I'm not sure where to start, and I've always liked the simplistic aesthetic of single speeds. Any suggestions?
