Nobody wants to discuss the Valhalla crash? It was pretty horrific. Bad couple of years for Metro-North. >in b4 Cuomo somehow manages to blame the MTA for this

I'm thinking of taking a trip on the California Zephyr this summer. Is there anything absolutely worth seeing between Chicago and Omaha, or can I safely skip that portion of the journey?

Hey /n/aggers To those of you who race: What's your training plan for the upcoming season? If you ride a home-trainer, what's the best way to develop stamina and / or power ? I'm asking because this is my second year on a road bike and for a number of medical reasons I can't ride outside during winter, so I've taken to riding at home. I'd like to be race-ready (in the lowest local category) by mid-spring, so far I've been doing 45 mins medium / short intervals for the last month almost daily and that's pretty much what I'm doing untill it gets a few degrees warmer outside. Is my plan retarded ? How can I make it better ? Thanks

Where are the big riders?

Let's have a thread dedicated to electric freight in the U.S. and Canada (hard mode: no interurbans) Please, no discussion of the Milwaukee Road's dieselization or the politics involved. Feel free to discuss the western portion of the railroad itself, though.

Your daily commuter

Hey /n/ show me your daily ride. Mine is a custom Patria (German hand-built) tourer with a Pinion P1.18 bottom bracket gearbox. Shifting is easy and reliable. I fitted a diy chainguard that covers the complete chainring, chain and sprocket, minimizing chain maintenance. I don't have a car so I use it for all daily errands and communting to work (25 km round trip). It currently has 3000km on the clock and rides like a charm.

Am I the only one that hates front suspensions on mountain bikes? I like the rear suspension, but front suspension just make the bike harder to handle imo, especially after a hard drop.

I've got one of these Quests - no-one can comprehend how fast they are until they ride one. I'm not fit but my 14 mile, 1 hour commute by old fashioned bicycle becomes a 41 minute blast where I have passed every other cycle I have ever encountered! And all with a laptop, change of clothes, shoes, spare tyre in the spcious cabin.... The only downside is in the centre of a town - they draw attention like nothing, so you get lots of people filming, quite a few car drivers/passengers filming - who block the road to other users while doing so. Also the stop/start acceleration is not as good due to the weight, but as soon as you get moving... Why oh why can't they use these in the Tour de France? The top riders would be covering 3-400 miles a day - awesome racing!!

Bleeding brakes

I need to bleed my brakes again and was wondering if anyone had just forced the fluid in from the caliper and just opened the bleed screw at the lever, forced fluid through til clean, and just closed off everything and called it good. Sort of like a boats lower unit if you understand what I mean. Or does anyone have a favorite youtube video of someone doing it?

>Patlabor 2 >Aircraft downed >7700 shows up on radar display Any other movies/tv series that showcase that the director knew something about aviation other than >Airplanes are scary! >They crash all the time! And that it looked like he actually gave a fuck about accurate portrayal?
