Daily reminder that the Tour De France is babby's first race and doesn't mean fuckall. Real racers do the RAAM. Literally anyone that isn't a diabetic amerishit could easily complete the Tour De France, and the winners are all druggies. I don't understand how anyone could possibly even think that winning it means anything. If they weren't weak shit-tier faggots then they would do the RAAM instead. They pretend they are the greatest cyclists in the world even though their race is barely two thirds the distance of RAAM and it takes them 3 times as long and they need drugs to complete it. The best racers in the world are the ones that compete in RAAM and I guarantee that even the last place finisher of RAAM is better than any TDF winner. Tl;dr real pro cyclists compete in RAAM, the ones that don't are shit-tier poseurs and should just be brakeless fixie bike messengers in San Francisco or New York

What is the best gun to take with you on long bike rides? I suggest the Glock 26.

Guys my rear triangle is very slightly bent. Not so much that it is noticable in the frame, but enough that the rear wheel is crooked even though the axle is properly seated all the way in the dropouts. Frame material is chromolly steel. Can this be fixed or is my frame fucked?

Alright lads, want to get into cycling. Just going round my village, maybe on roads to local villages and towns. Don't really want to spend much over £200. Would a hybrid be okay? Road bikes seem expensive. How about something like this? http://www.evanscycles.com/products/dawes/discovery-trail-2015-hybrid-bike-ec114544#answers Btw I'm 183 centimetres tall and 85 centimetres inside leg. Any other essential gear? Helmet+first aid kit+repair kit for tyres or w/e Worth getting a high vis jacket and some lights even in the day?

I was riding the path today and some teenagers were horsing around, one got pushed in front of me by his friends and I ran into him. I had already slowed down when I got closer to them and they were not paying attention to their surroundings at all (there was a bike 10 meters in front of them/me, and another 10 meters behind me), but it was still technically my fault and I feel really terrible. Luckily no one got hurt (I was probably going about 5 or 6 mph when I hit him) but I am burning with shame realizing I was the stereotype of the bad cyclist today. I don't know if a bell would have helped because they were completely in their own world when they shoved the one guy, but I realize I've been putting off getting one and I'm legally required to have one, so: what bell is good? Loudness is key because I am in a noisy urban area, and preferably something that I can mount on drop bars.

Any advice about buying panniers? I need one to carry my work clothes/shoes (business wear) as well as for occasional shopping, and biking to class when the fall semester starts back up. Right now I bike 5 miles through the city. This is what I was looking at. http://www.amazon.com/BOBIN-Multi-function-Traveller-ROSWHEEL-Waterproof/dp/B00Q852UJK/ref=sr_1_13?&ie=UTF8&qid=1436156353&sr=8-13&keywords=pannier

Hey /n/. The 2015 Summer Cup is coming up from July 31st to August 16th and we need to decide our lineup for the tournament. So vote here. It'll be open until there's sufficient responses. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1gPpA_iuJRr8AYk3r5YVCoIZC28bfriaNgxngW5FzLB8/viewform As well as that, we play friendly pre-tournament warmups against /mu/ and /a/. For these games we'll be using a roster comprised of retired players as one last outing before they're killed forever. The schedule is as follows vs /mu/ - July 12th, 8pm BST / 3pm Eastern / 12pm Pacific vs /a/ - July 18th, 8pm BST / 3pm Eastern / 12pm Pacific Full Schedule - http://implyingrigged.info/wiki/2015_4chan_Summer_Cup_Friendlies Here's hoping for a great cup for /n/ and our first elite tournament knockout round since February 2013. Get hype! For more info on what this is - http://implyingrigged.info and http://implyingrigged.info/wiki//n/

Hey, /n/. Posted this in /o/, where it's dying with no replies. Thought you all might have some insights. I'm not really sure where to put this since it broaches a few different topics. I was taking a look at this TED video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiwVMrTLUWg [Embed] and being the fool that I am, scrolled down to look at the comments. Automation has been a concern in the back of my mind for a long while now, and comments like these just seem so naive to me now. Everyone thinks that everyone else is the poor driver, shouting about how they'll be glad to have "them" off the roads. But I'm troubled by the zeal with which people pursue this idea. Granted, my commute to work is about 5 minutes - were it two+ hours, I might feel differently about driving, but I have no grand desire to give up control of my vehicle in exchange for a few more minutes of "free" time. The reason that I find these sorts of ideas problematic is that - I don't feel - people are considering the risks that automation like this poses to our work force. I work in the transportation industry, and have no illusions about how quickly transport companies will adopt fully automated vehicles once they're reliable enough to be profitable. That's a lot of jobs suddenly just... Gone, with no real place for the formerly-employed to go. For the sake of hosting this conversation on /o/, I'll stick to the auto element of the risks surrounding automation. What do you think, /n/? Are you excited for automated vehicles? How do you think it will impact our daily lives and our economies?

Flying anxiety

Who else here shits themselves no matter how many times they fly? The concept of being propelled in an aluminum tube by giant fans into the sky seems incredibly primitive to me.
