Consider these to videos:
>GCN Wheelsucker video
>Don't suck me bro video
I had a similar thing happen and may have been an ass. I may need help clarifying etiquette.
>Be 30 miles into a 50 mile ride
>Be tired and sort of bored, taking a break by cruising at like 15mph
>Guy passes me right before a long shallow downhill with a stop at the bottom
>Wakes me up but I hold off a minute before starting to pedal with effort again
>Okay, he's a hundred yards up, start pedaling.
>Catch up to him when he's stopped at the bottom of the hill.
>Stay behind him
>He's cruising at around 21.5mph, this is about 2mph faster than I would generally cruise solo.
>I'm staying 7 to 8 feet behind him, I don't want to slow down but don't really have the energy to pass him.
>A half a mile of this and he starts taking a drink from his bottle and spitting it to his right, not quite over his shoulder.
>Is he spitting at me? I drop back to like 10 to 15 feet behind.
>Then he slows down so I coast up on him a bit unintentionally and move over to the left so I'm not right behind him.
>Then he speeds up then he slows down
>I think he might be annoyed by my presence, so I pass him and kick it up to about 26mph for a mile or so
>never see him again
Was I being an asshole? I tried to keep a polite distance, what is a polite distance? Personally, I wish people would actually drift on me, I like the thought of being that guy that can drag another along but then saw this GCN video. What should I have done.

Post questions about general materials used for making frames/components. Carbon, aluminum, Ti, steel etc.
I'll start. I just bought a 2015 specialized diverge elite a1. It has a carbon fork but that's the extent of the carbon on the bike. Would it be worth it to upgrade to a carbon handle bar, seat post, and carbon cranks to save the weight? As it stands the bike is 22 pounds. I'd obviously like to get it lighter. I ride it to and from work on base, and the roads are pretty lousy so I'd appreciate the vibrations dampening effects too. Thoughts?
