What wheels are you riding on? Aluminium, carbon, steel?
I've been riding on Shimano WH-RS010 aluminium rims for some time, until I decided to build myself a pair of carbon wheels. I've used Powerway R13 hubs, DT round spokes and 50mm rims with basalt-coated braking surfaces, 23mm wide. The spoke count is 20 for the front and 24 in the rear, using radial and 2 cross on the lacing. After lubricating the spoke nipples and careful lacing I've been able to even spoke tension at about 130kgf in the front and 100/160 in the rear.
Having ridden both aluminium and carbon shallow-section rims in the past, the change to this wheels has been surprising. At 1560g they're not heavy at all, and the round spokes give good lateral stiffness. The bike feels more nervous and responsive, that's for sure. The Powerway hubs roll nicely but it's still too soon to talk about their longevity.
I admit I was a little worried about the basalt-coated carbon on the braking surfaces, but the braking is really good. Compared to aluminium you lose a little modulation when you're braking very lightly, but that's far from a problem.
