Shitty transit planning thread
Today opens a new subway extension in Barcelona, although it's not really an extension because the line it's part of hast it's central part still incomplete and with no work being done on it (because spaniards are retarded at planning infrastructure and we can't pay for it now).
This is almost 20km of new subway line, the largest single stretch ever put in service. Howwever, the line is godawfully designed (just look at all those ridiculous twists and turns), and this is the line that reaches the airport, rendering it's function of getting people from downtown to the airport moot, since the commuter train is way faster. Also the commuter train has no extra cost, so with a 10-trip ticket it costs less than 1 euro to get to the airport, while the subway costs 4,50 in addition to the regular fare.
Apart from the airport, this line only reaches peripheral boroughs which aren't densely populated, and a satellite city of 60.000 which also has commuter rail which is way cheaper and faster. It's highly unlikely that this subway will be anywhere close to a reasonable demand for a subway line. Also it's actually a branch line of the whole line, so it'll only get half the regular subway frequency at best, which would be about 5-6 minutes.

lets talk about food.
what do you guys eat? how much money do you spend on food? do you eat during rides?
right now im worried cause at the moment im still living with my parents(who have nice moneys) and they are ok buying tons of food, but in a month im moving out and im poor, my work is relaxed but crappy payed.. and i eat a fucking ton. i know its related to biking.
per day i usually eat:
3 big meals
1 decent sandwich
2-3 bananas or other fruits
1 litre of milk
1-4 boiled eggs
note: when i say big meals i mean something like rice or pasta+ meat, sometimes also with beans and stuff like that and usually with salad.. size of the meal is big, way bigger than what most people eat.
i usually ride 3 times a week for 2.5 hours and 4-5 hours total during the weekend, plus some minor riding on the free days, lets say 30minutes (but fast). the other thing, im short and thin as fuck. ( 5'5, 58kg).
how much are you guys eating? any special diet? i dont eat anything on long rides(4 hours) but i drink a can of cola or a juice with sugar at some point... im noticing that i need to carry some food... picture is just amerifood. opinions on my crappy diet?

A cager with diplomatic plates tried to kill me today. He made an illegal turn that cut into my path, forcing me to swerve and brake hard enough to lift my rear tire. I yelled at him through his window and he just stared blankly. Either he didn't understand English or he didn't care, I'm not really sure.
Cagers in general aren't punished for vehicular manslaughter, and those with diplomatic immunity even less, but how does U-lock justice work with diplomats? Does the same law that says they can do whatever they want mean we can do whatever we want to them? He had children in the back seat so I didn't escalate, but there are so many diplomatic plates around here, it makes me wonder how much carnage they inflict with impunity.
