Hey guys, I'm on a mountain biking team and want to do better. I used to be an endurance athlete, a cross country runner, and would bike with my friends and do very well due to the large amounts of running I would do. I was on a 5a varsity team as a high school freshmen, for reference. Then, I ditched running for lifting, and I am not that strong but I've been making gains and lift enough to impress normies. I recently joined this mtb team because I have friends on it, but I don't want to do extra cardio than the two small practices each week because I don't want to look like a Holocaust victim again like I did in xc. I went to a race this weekend and did terribly, and almost got beat by this faggy kid who has no muscle, I only won because I could sprint the the second half of the last lap due to leg muscles from squat. I want to get better and I realize that to do that I need to ride a lot more, ride everyday almost. I don't want to be a skelly though, and I wouldn't be able to do starting strength like normal because it bombs my legs. How do I ride 100+ miles a week(almost all road) but still have a good looking body, and some strength? Please help.
