Biking clothes?

11 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
I have to drive 16 km per day to school. Since i am saving bus money(very expensive here, 50€ a month) . But in Winter i usually cant drive because it is too cold and if i wear winter clothes i sweat very much. Can anyone recommend me good winter clothes? Maybe summer aswell, since morning is cold and midday hot as hell sometimes. Has anyone got experience with this, then share with me please.

/n/ Jersey Gen 1.1

Some anons were planning to set up an order for Gen 1.1 jerseys last year. By late fall, it hadn't been set up yet, and people were losing interest with winter approaching (because they're fucking casuals who don't cycle during winter), so the project was halted indefinitely. With spring well underway and summer fast approaching, I think now is the perfect time to resurrect this. There were a number of variations of the jersey last year, with pic related being the most popular version, so we'll probably go with pic related or something very similar. This design is quite similar to Gen 1 (hence the name Gen 1.1) making it popular among the people who missed out on Gen 1 and want one, while also different enough to appeal to people who want something new and different, along with the fact that it improves on Gen 1 in a few important ways (replacing 'buses' with 'boats' and adding Yotsuba blue). Last year, the priorities voiced by anons in choosing a company to produce our jerseys were: >International shipping available >Race fit available >Full length zipper available >Female sizing available The manufacturer we were leaning towards was Aero Tech Designs, with Podium as another popular option. If anons are still in favor of Aero Tech Designs, I will be in touch with them soon to ensure that they can meet our requirements. cont.

>Specialized made a concept bike that is literally named 'Fuck UCI' http://www.ilovebicycling.com/specialized-fuci-bike-bike-of-the-future/ It has a motor because weakfag downtubers are too weak to accelerate with a 36" wheel though.

Mercedes Unimog Overlander?

I saw one of these beasts in a campground in Colorado. The German owner said he had shipped in into the US by boat after traveling in South America. It's seems like it's more for crossing the Sahara than off-roading in the US. Anybody know anything about them?

Trek VS Giant

So I've narrowed it down to two choices: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes/mountain-bikes/trail-mountain-bikes/fuel-ex/fuel-ex-5-29/p/2132600-2016 https://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/bikes/model/trance.x.29er.2/14835/66298/ Without being a fanboy, which of these two bikes should I buy?

Trek 1.1c 2016 or giant defy 5? Is the carbon fork on the 1.1c worth the 110 dollars? Are neither of these good? Have about a 800 dollar budget. I've been commuting about 60 miles a week on a trek 4500 mountain bike. Is it worth the upgrade?

Which city that you visited had the best public transit? Think reliability, affordability, aesthetics, number of different types (buses, trams/streetcars, subways), etc.

another single speeder thread

36 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
Can someone explain me why you should get a single speeder? I can understand the argument that the power you put into the pedals, has only about 5 % energy loss to the final movement of the wheel. But derailleur bikes have ALMOST the same, only huge difference is at cheap hub gears. So i tought, well maybe because they are minimalistic, prob. they are cheaper? Well as i see most of them are still sold for the same price as a bike with a good derailleur gear. WTF? Tell me why people buy this?
