Used CAAD 10 SRAM Force vs New CAAD 12 105?

I can't make up my mind. The CAAD 10 is from 2011 SRAM Force for 1500$ CAD and the CAAD 12 at around 2200$CAD. What would you recommend as a first serious road bike? >pic related

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7yt-VPYtOA Why do cagers love murdering people so much? >my city a few days ago >guy in fancy car runs a stopsign in pedestrian heavy area >(a few years ago a car driver murdered a 3 year old child at this same intersection pulling the same shit this car did) >guy in fancy car strikes skater, causing him to fall off his board >cager has the gall to yell at skater >skater administers swift justice STOP means STOP So often do I have to watch cars run reds, totally ignore stop signs, stop to idle in the middle of a bike lane, turn without looking, not to mention the bikes lanes we do have are in the door zone of streetside parking and cagers pull in or out without looking. If I didn't always assume the worst of cagers as a cyclist OR pedestrian I would be dead.

Reminder that gen 1.1 is the ONLY true /n/ jersey. >based on gen 1 design, not some stupid forced meme like "nomads" >replaces death cage "buses" with "boats" >incorporates board color >free of design flaws (such as the rear sprocket being too low on gen 1) >looks far better than any other /n/ jersey

Saga/n/ appreciation thread Dude is the greatest combination of power, skill and showmanship I've ever seen. Some things that get circlejerked are good enough to deserve it. Peter Sagan is one of those.

I'm reading that the rear back seat is usually the safest spot, but as the vehicles improve it seems that it's always improvements made to the front seats and never in the back. I don't think they even test the back seat anymore with dummies or anything, with this in mind do you think that it's possible that the front seats are now safer than the back rear position? Also for the vehicles that don't have the shoulder seat belt, are they STILL safer than any other seat even without the strap? I'm thinking a lot about this because i'm thinking about my mortality and probabilities of dying in my life. I'm a healthy vegan and i'm not predisposed to any diseases, i like to believe that i'm mentally stable as well so that knocks out cardiovascular disease and suicide which i think are the top two killers besides cancer and car accidents. I like to just try to cover my bases here in order to live as long as i possibly can. I know this sounds autistic and shit but i really like to get into how to optimize my life. I have a road bike i take to work every day but i think i'll stop to get a subaru outback for safety reasons only. (i don't even know how to drive but i live with some neet close friends that can take me to places i need to go that say they would love to)

Thanks to years of smoking weed in my youth (which in addition to ruining my academic career) I developed gynecomastia which I am pretty self-conscious about. While I am thin and would otherwise look good in a jersey my nipples are shaped like cones so I never wear form fitting clothes. What do I look for in a jersey? Are there any out there that incorporate flattening pads? I can't be the only guy who has these issues.

/n/-cycling in hilly cities

What do you guys think about hilliness effecting city's potential for cycling-friendliness.. I hear that Seattle is quite hilly yet has a high cycle mode-share. Also San Francisco. How come? Can the hills mainly be circumvented? Are the hills overstated? Do people just sweat it out?

>Go to local bike shop to get first road bike >Turns out they're high end (Specialized, Felt etc) >Tell them I want a road bike and I've never had one before >End up walking away with a Specialized Diverge A1 for $880 It's a bit more than I wanted to spend but from looking at online reviews before finally buying the bike it seems really solid. What is /n/'s thoughts on this bike?

Why is cycling so white?

68 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
Let's leave the /pol/ discussions of racial superiority / IQ / etc out of this discussion as much as possible. Most pro cyclists have European heritage, with the exception of the Japanese and track cycling. Is it genetic? Or is it simply unpopular / impossible to break into cycling as a 3rd world citizen? This question is not a slight on any non-white cyclists posting here, I am a very slow and unhealthy American cyclist so I am not gloating. Africans clearly have an endurance advantage in running events at the olympics. Perhaps euros have a genetic advantage where leg strength and endurance are required. Does anybody know what nation dominates track cycling?

I am building up my old hardtail as a car replacement. So far I have a rear pannier. Going to get mud guards next. What else would you put on a car replacement bike?
