Adventure Bikes

I'm looking into getting an adventure bike, and came across Diamondback's Haanjo EXP, I've been reading about for the past few days, and it seems like Diamondback has been really stepping up their game. Only thing is that I know fuck all about mountain bike components. (I ride track/fixed primarily). I was wondering are bar end shifters even appealing still? Aren't they a bit archaic? My two options so far have been the Haanjo EXP: http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1209548_-1___ or PX On One Bish Bash Bosh: http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CBOOBBBRIV1/on-one-bish-bash-bosh-sram-rival-1-hrd-adventure---gravel-bike anyone have any other recommendations or insight on these two, or their components? some links I've found about the Haanjo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BlhFFTFZzk http://theradavist.com/2016/07/diamondbacks-new-27-5-haanjo-exp-carbon-touring-bike/

Wald Folding Rear Baskets

Has anybody tried these baskets? I want to improve my bike's carrying capacity, but those panniers seem too expressive for my wallet and taste. I'm not planning any long touring trips for a while, I just want some to carry groceries and other stuff. The Amazon reviews are mixed, with some complaining of the baskets rattling and not being easy to close.

Are cyclists just as bad as cagers?

Hey /n/ I just moved to a city where the most efficient mode of transport is cycling. I bought myself a cheap second hand bike and have found myself using it almost every day, so now I'm looking g to upgrade. I have decided that a cyclocross bike would suit my needs best. I am currently looking at pic related (Reid Granite 2.0) If anyone could advise me on whether or not this bike is worthwhile, or if there is anything better in the <$1000AUD price range I'd love to hear from you. The Granite 1.0 is also a couple hundred cheaper, so that would be a great option if it's not too far inferior. Aside from that, ITT we talk cyclocross

What are the advantages of streetcars?

I.E. (light) trains that run on street. What so great about them compared to buses, light rail with dedicated lines and metro lines? I don't see the appeal or the advantages. My city got rid of them long before I was born, so the whole idea seem weird, alien and old fashioned. What am I missing?

Old one >>1008351 Lately i havent been able to get my indexing right and i get crazy chain skipping. my friend told me my hanger was bent and he straightened it out (he is a bike mech btw, it was a minor bend so he could do it) I have also replaced my chain and shifter cables before and until 2 days ago it was fine. when i try to adjust it now i get a knocking noise from the rear and the chain goes up 2 on a certain cog. Also what would happen if i put some rusted dust caps from my jockey wheels in vinegar? I know that it would also remove the metals protective coat.

Hello /n/ I'm looking to buy a used bike. Something thats good quality but does not break the bank. So I found this bike on craigslist. If someone can look it up for me and tell me if its worth the price, especially considering all those parts. https://blacksburg.craigslist.org/bik/5783456737.html

how to unbend your forks

5 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
Hey /n/ here you go with a quick tip I discovered after I crashed my bike into a skateboarder and my forks got messed up... As long as your forks are made out of steel (mine are made out of "Chromoly" which is a fancy word for "steel") you can just bend it back no problem. if this ever happens to you, brace your bike against two hard things and then use a spreader to push the fork back into place as shown in the picture. Hope this can help you some day. :-)
