If you had unlimited money, what bike would you get? I'd probably get a 'rello Dogma 2bh.

The Tupolev Tu-154 killed another flightload of people today. This time it took the Red Army Choir with it. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/dec/25/russian-military-plane-missing-in-black-sea-with-up-to-100-on-board-report-says

Current Flight plan is from Los Angeles to New York, this is a real time flight. There will be music and movies on board. Disclaimer: This is a CIA funded flight, please no electronics, pagers or laptops during the duration of the flight; or get risked of being shot before being thrown off of the plane. Thank you!

/n/ what do you think is/should be someone's average biking speed on different terrains/elevations? For example, if someone is biking on a flat road, how fast should they be going? Uphill? Downhill? When I go down my hill on my commute I hit 35-40 MPH, but on the way back UP it I only go between 7-8 MPH. I ride on this flat section and was going like 16-18 MPH on a road bike, and this older Asian guy on this mountain bike who I passed downhill went past me like I was standing still and I felt like shit getting passed like that and like I suck at riding

Why the heck do I feel pretty uncomfortable and way too fast when I do like 50 on a road-bike on a descent using the lower handlebar, whereas I feel absolutely relaxed doing 60 on a MTB ( once I did 92 k)? Same thing when cornering. Have to say I'm quite a newbie to roadbiking, but I thought my 10 years spent on a MTB (including some races and even a bit of DH)were in some ways useful..How do I have to handle roadbikes when I want to go fast?

Hi /n/ anyone is good at the bike id game? I found this old Legnano in my garage and would like to understand how old it is Should either be a Roma or Gran Premio, has a "6 time world champion" sticker and a brass knight badge in the front. Stamped on the RIGHT side of the seat tube, below the seat, there's number 18 Campagnolo derailleur, Cinelli stem, Stehl gea levers on the tube Any kind of help would be highly appreciated, cheers

I have two questions about this board. 1. Why is it under "Japanese Culture"? 2. Why have this board when there is /o/ or vice versa ?

Second Avenue Subway

After close to a century of planning the first section of the Second Avenue Subway will open on January 1, 2017 adding three new stations to the NYC Subway. It's the first segment in a line that will eventually run almost the entire length of Manhattan. It's expected to carry 200,000 people daily upon opening. Any NYC Anons/railfans/foamers planning to check things out?

I've got a Dutch style single speed bike with sit up and beg/high handlebars but I want to change them because I feel my ride could be significantly more comfortable if I had multiple hand position options. I don't like drop bars so I don't consider that an an option and prior to this bike I rode on straight bars. I am considering getting butterfly/trekking bars and seeing how I get on with those. The longest journey I'll take is a 18-20 mile round trip but that only rarely Any other types of bar and what are the pros and cons of butterfly bars

hey /n/ what could i power with a hub dynamo? i was first gonna install some indicators with a small battery, switch & relais. but people have been saying that it won't work. i'm no electrician, but i thought like they won't be used all the time and when needed i could get the power directly from a 6v battery which will be charged all the way when not used. would this work? also, gadget thread?

Getting back on

Hay /n/, can't seem to find a thread that fits my question so I'll just ask. What would /n/ suggest bike gear / parts wise for a person getting back into cycling. I got a bit fat after injury and I'm not as energetic as I used to be due to meds. Anything that can make the ride easier for now?

long distance cycling

Greetings /n/ as many of you know the Festive 500 are coming up. A group of friends and I are planning to do it in one go as others have done before. My longest ride so far was 340km but that was in summer so in addition to the distance this will be even harder. Not sure if I can do it but I will try. Anyway: Does anyone have exprience with this kind of distance or more. What tips can you give me except the obvious things like sensible pacing and regular eating/drinking? I'm an experienced rider but have never tried this distance under these circumstances. I will be riding in northern europe, temperatures will likey be around the freezing point so not super cold.
