PSA regarding mountain bikes

On a whim I stopped at an unknown bike shop the other day and I inadvertently solved the MTB mystery. I wondered why the baggy pants wearing, ski-lift loving lazy bike haters are always posting on the transportation board even though they don't exist IRL. Well they do exist, it turns out! I saw some, not just the regular MTB people who are obviously just too poor to afford a real bike so they duck pedal at 8 RPM on their 90s rigid MTB with plastic bags hanging off the handlebars, but also the made up special 4chan MTB fans who think that spending more on the same stupid shit somehow makes you go down the groomed ski slope faster that you drove your MTB to in the back of a motorized cage. But they don't go to normal bike shops, they go to the MTB people shop where everyone looks like a scrawny fetal alcohol baby and talks in incomprehensible children's slang while wearing "streetwear" and they compete over who can have the knobbiest tires for mostly riding around on concrete. Turns out, at this shop, pretty much all they deal with is MTBs and their clientele is made up of all those people who think you need a special remote-controlled motorized seat post, and you should carry around a special pump so your bike's frame geometry can avoid sagging, and non-transport-relevant shit like that. Anyway it's still a mystery why MTB people think they should be on /n/ transportation (but I guess it's no more silly than skateboards or rollerblades).

PTC and railroad automation

How long until PTC is fully implemented and railroad crews become cucked out of their jobs by automation?

Hi guys, The city where I work recently decided to make me pay to park in front of my office. There's free parking a 10 min walk away, but I was thinking of getting a step scooter to go faster. Anyone got any recommendations/good brands? Things to look for? It would have to be available in Europe, but I can look that up myself.

>lock costs more than bike What's a cheap lock that's good enough for my 90s rigid mtb? We should shoot bike thieves.

Sup guys. So I bought this bike at Walmart about 6 months ago and so far I've only used it for riding around town and some flat bike trails with occasional bumps here and there. But now I want to start going to some real mountain bike trails. I will be doing beginner trails obviously. Should I upgrade my bike or is this good for now? If I do need to upgrade what's a good bike for around ~$300?

Hey /n/iggas, I got a job delivering food by bicycle. I was thinking about either buying a cheap single speed or a cheap shimano nexus 3 speed. I don't wanna ride my road bike because I don't want to wreck the components just pissing around in the city. What would you recommend? Do 3 speed components last? You can buy them pretty cheaply here and they have semi-decent geometry.

I'm thinking about getting one of these ebikes as a commuter, i can get one for around 8k, I've been thinking this is more cost effective than a motorcycle after 2 years, factoring fuel, maintenance, registration, insurance. Thoughts?

>Be amateur road cyclist >Have girlfriend who goes to the gym and gets an invite a friend for free to go to spin class leaflet. >Attend girlfriends spin class >Instantly regret it as the geometry, seat and everything just feels wrong >The woman who runs it approaches me and condescendingly tells me to not worry if its too hard >Start >It's pretty easy, just spinning at 100rpm >Notice that people are starting to sweat >Fat cunt in front of me adjusts to get more aero and her g-string rides up

Formal cycling shoes

20 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
I will start an internship in a consulting company in a couple of weeks and I need to dress myself somewhat formally. The company is very close to my apartment and I want to ride there with my work clothes and not have to change them once I get there, since I don't think they have a shower or a changing room. If I wear formal shoes on the bike, not only will it be very uncomfortable, but I'll also ruin and scratch them all the time. Is there any cycling shoe that can sufficiently pass off as formal shoes? I've been looking for weeks but I can't find anything. What do ge/n/tlemen wear to go to work? Or do you just say fuck it and change clothes when you get there? TL;DR: are there any cycling shoes that can pass off as formal shoes?

The /n/-Region

The great country of 4chan houses many independently-operated regions. To the east, there's the /a/-region, to the south the /b/-region, and many others. What does /n/ look like? How's the government? City design? Demographics? Geography? Or dare I say.... the transportation systems?
