> Be on designated bicycle path
> Come to major intersection, have to get to island.
> Big 4wd coming down slip lane, wait for him to pass.
> 4wd stops 6 feet short of ped/bike crossing, 7-10m short of give way line.
> See that traffic is against 4wd anyway. Often have to go in between cars waiting in this sliplane in peak hour to cross.
> Start to cross in front of 4wd because would have to go up road to get around behind. Keeping my eye on him.
> Realise that I can't see his face, he is looking down other road to the right.
> 4wd lurches forward without looking ahead.
> Got my eye on him and know he's not looking, leap off platform pedals like a cat.
> Bike goes under 4wd. Bruise on elbow from bonnet and tear in show from getting caught in his lisence plate when jumping off.
> Cranks destroyed and front rings bent (later realise frame is bent writeoff).
> Dude drives me home.
> Take bike to LBS. mfw they point out bent frame.
> All week chosing new bike.
> Consider pedal selection, thinking about clipless.
> MFW I realise that if I had clipless before, I might be dead.

/n/ how do you lock your transportation devices, mainly bicycles?
I wanted to buy this Kryptonite mini u-lock + cable combo because of weight, but seeing real world images , I think it's too small to lock muh frame, back wheel and object that bike is secured to. On the other hand, I live in low crime area and was thinking i could just lock my frame with u-lock and my wheels with cable. Am I just being too naive? Full size u-lock is fuckhueg and fuckheavy.
