Advice on purchasing a second-hand Bianchi (complete)

I have a friend whose father has stopped riding his Bianchi road bike. Apparently he hasn't used it in 10 years. It's been kept in a garage all this time, under a cover.
I am interested to buy it, but I would like your opinions on the matter.
My primary worry is that the frame is too small. I am 185cm tall, and this bike looks like a 56, but I might be wrong. He has sent me pictures but he doesn't know much about bikes so he can't tell me anything else about it.
How much would you pay for it? I am buying it in Paris, so Euros is best, but you can tell me in U$D and I will do the conversion. His mother has said it should sell for 200-400 Euros.. I am hoping the father isn't as much of a Jew as his mom.. They got the bike as a gift so anything they make is pure profit.
If it's a good deal, does the size matter all that much or will I be fine if I just adjust the saddle height?
Any pros and cons to this bike that I should be aware of before I make a decision?
And no, I do not intend to turn this into a fixie with a Brookes saddle.
Thanks for your attention and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Saw this shit on the Chive today, /n/.
What do you think?
It's neat, but in my experience, if you're anywhere where that grid would be helpful, it's more important to be seen than to see. (Say, tooling through a town.) Anywhere else and you'd either not be out at that time of night, or have yourself a honkin' floodlight or some shit.
Neat concept, anyhow.

Hey /n/, this is my mountain bike, Giant Talon, 29er, whatever, any idea how much I could sell it for? If you need any info I'll supply. Never crashed/wrecked before. Got in November, etc, its only got 200 miles on it
