Alright apparently my city's civil engineers love torturing cyclists. Pictured is a highway overpass's final stretch, descending until it reaches an intersection where it's over. I am at position 1. I'm in a dedicated bike lane. I want to make a left turn, to get to point number 4. Now, ordinarily, I'd like to cross over to point 2, and make a left turn, but given the two lanes of rage cage, even my downhill speeds won't please them, and I'm likely to get fucking killed. So, my next plan would be to box-turn or whatever. Go to point 3, then cross safely. However, to make a right turn, I have to cross over the lane 5 which is a blindspot death trap of speeding cars. They speed because their lane ends about 10 meters after they cross the intersection. I've labeled lane 6 for no particular reason, however it is a risk that they can signal to turn there, but instead blow through because they're going into the other lane, not onto the overpass. So, how on earth am I supposed to tackle this?

Fat and bikes don't mix.

Dearest /n/, I was wondeing if there is a simple method to figure out from what material my frame is build. I'm pretty sure it's somekind of steel alloy but can I narrow that down further? I got the frame rather cheap and second hand, but it's unbranded. Hopeing you can help, Love Anon

Track bike on the road?

18 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: Fixed-gear-cogs.jpg]
I just got a free track bike from a friend of mine's dad who used to ride and I was wondering if there was anything I could do to make it suitable for commuting/road use. It currently has a singlespeed freewheel on it (no idea why?) but I have a fixed cog to switch it out with once i get a freewheel tool. There are no dromes around here to ride, just roads and some mediocre trails. If I CAN'T use this bike on the road, is there anything I can do with it? I'd hate to just let it sit.

little chainring

so i've gotten a cross-style bike with the triple chainring. I'm used to road doubles and I usually pair the big ring with the higher half of the sprockets, then use the small ring on the lower half of the sprockets. How do I work the small chainring into this situation? should I split the sprockets into thirds, or is the small chainring only used with the lowest gear sprocket as a final bail-out?

Strava hate thread. How can anyone really take this shit seriously? It's so easy to fake all of it. A clever, technically competent person wouldn't even have to get up from their computer to fake everything they post there. If someone wants to "compete" against other riders to prove their athleticism, then they should sign up for actual races and compete against other riders, in person, for real, with real results, not post bullshit on some website. Post in this thread if you think Strava is stupid! Strava-lovers need not apply.

>my first group ride ever >doing alright >halfway through route I feel the need to shit >ohmygodwhy.jpg >nearest restroom is in a gas station 10 miles down the road >praying that I make it >strong headwind hitting us >struggling to keep up with everyone >suddenly feel my anus give way And that's the story of how I will never do a group ride ever again out of shame and embarrassment. Also, does anyone know how to get the smell of shit out of the padding in my shorts?

Will a Bike Shop charge me to install an inner tube if I come with the inner tube and tire? Because apparently, I'm a god damn fucking subhuman retard who can't fucking do step by step instructions right, and I shattered my pump (and U-lock) in the aftermath.

Sup guys. I came here because Im guessing some of you might have had a similar experience. >be on bike >asshole runs a red light >hits me As above. So after he took fault (I had video anyways) I started going to therapy and I got my bike a crash estimate and they called it a total loss. A little over 900 bucks. My question is this How much money am I going to receive (aside from the crash estimate) ? My friend said that if I continue to go to therapy then they will subtract money from the original amount, is it true? To my understanding you would get more money the more therapy you get . Im broke and paying for classes, food and housing isn't fucking fun. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys Pic related: The guy had a chance to go around the car infront of him yet he waited till his fucking light was red
