Heyo! first time poster, visiting from /out/, /k/, and /pol/.

How would I go about transporting goods over long distances?

I'm talking a dozen triwall boxes across 2400 klicks over land periodically.

I'd be Shipping large amounts of small boxes (I.E. Client's orders) out, too.

this would be for a business idea.

Any help? ideas?

Have the right idea. Your best bet is to use an existing company who have the infrastructure and expertise in place to move that much stuff that kind of distance.

You could probably get a better bulk rate with them if you are sending stuff out as a business.

DHL works worldwide even to some remote shithole in Africa. Most local postal services have agreements with other postal services in other countries to deliver your package worldwide. I don't know where you live but my company have contracts with Schenker and a local postal service (which sucks). Schenker has daily deliveries and pickup here despite my company being out in a small village.

DHL comes twice a week according to a schedule. When we order stuff from RS we usually get our packages with express DHL delivery. That shit is good because they will send a taxi with our package if it didn't make the delivery truck.

What you need to do is to get a subscription with DHL or whatever company you like that have good service in your area and target customers. Then you login to their portal, fill in package dimension (some postals services don't care about that as long it's regular parcel sizes) and weight and order a pick up. Then you print out a label with a barcode and slap it onto the package.

Also to add that we can order at the evening and get the package at noon the day after with a taxi and we got the stuff sent to us from some warehouse 5 countries away. I suspect this good within one business day service only work if you are a huge company like RS though.

thanks a bunch!

I'm guessing any ol' box to ship products out in won't do, so where can I get some that would meet the specs required from a shipping company?

would it be something ''proprietary'' (gotta get it from them) or just a box with a certain set of dimensions would do?

Call up the shipping company first is what I'd do. Then make your decision on the size of boxes you're going to need, and then go out and find somebody to get them from.
