So my girlfriend and I are gonna get married. She has a ring already, it was her grandmother's, and she likes it. And I think rings are useless. So, I thought, why not get her an engagement car? Her favorite car in the whole world is a corvette c3. She's a girl, and therefore doesn't care about power and handling, just looks. And as far as she's concerned, that car is as close to perfect as it gets. So Im thinking I can get her a mid to late 70s model, 350, auto. The one from when the smog shit happened that had like 190 hp (fucking wow). Anyone have any ideas on this, things to look out for on these cars, or advice in general?

How does the Valet mode work in the Stingray? After entering a personal code on the touchscreen, the vehicle's power is cut down to prevent tire smoking and engine over revving. When the Stingray is in the valet mode, the driver sees this firmly displayed on the screen.
But... what the driver does not see is a notification that he or she are being recorded using the onboard camera and PDR, offered as an option on the Stingray. What the accidental driver does not know either is the fact that not only the video is being recorded but AUDIO as well. Thus, effectively, GM provides the Stingray owners with eavesdropping device and allows them to record other people's voices without a notification and permission.
And here lies the stupidity of GM: even if an event of wild valet gets caught on the recorder, it is very likely it will be readily tossed out by a judge due to the lack of permission obtained from the driver.
However, the Canadians apparently caught on and stopped all Corvette sales due to GM offering an illegal surveillance option on the Corvette. Thus, there are no sales of Corvette in Canada until is resolved, allowing anyone using valet option to receive a proper disclosure that they are being recorded by the car, including their voice.
