My Brother in law has recently acquired an 74' Chevy K10 with a manual trans. This is the extent of information I remember about it, and that my sister knows about it.
I want to get him some cool stuff for it for Christmas, so far I have thought of a set of door hinge pins, since I know those are a common trouble spot, but that adds up to like $10 worth of gift, so I need to think of some other doodads that he might want, but not sure what other common trouble spots there are on those trucks.
I thought of getting him a carb kit or something, but she doesn't know if it's the original carb, and frankly I can't remember which engine he said he had.
Also I'm not entirely sure what his plans for it are, they do own about 20 acres of land in Minnesota, and he did mention putting lockers in the diffs eventually. the photo is just a random one off of google.
any experts on the 73'-87' Chevy pickup?

Hi /O/, don't frequent this board but I'm in a predicament.
I currently own a (manual) 2000 Saturn SC2 with a broken... Something.
Either something is wrong with the clutch or something is wrong with the whole transmission. When it shit the bed I noticed to change gears it wasn't around 3-4k RPMs but more like 5-7k RPMs. I started smelling th clutch and the clutch stopped engaging and I couldn't go into any gear. Not too sure what's wrong but since I now live in California, I'm aware that I have to do smog tests, and if I fail one, I can enroll in a retirement program and sell my car for 1500 dollars (the car was only worth 2000) my question is this:
Should I fix the car? How could I figure out if it's my clutch or transmissio and how much do they go for?
Or should I somehow cut my losses, and somehow fail a smog test? How could one do that?

alright spegs. give me your opinion, i am considering buying a 2014 ram. SLT trim, crew cab, 5.7L Hemi. The dealer is asking just under 37k. I am sick and tired of not having a decent vehicle (I do all my own work, but shit gets annoying); I work 50+ hrs/week and dont feel like fixing shit anymore. So what's all your guys opinions on Rams these days?
pic semirelated, roughly what I'd get.
