>claim to be car enthusiasts
>drive 10 year old shitboxes
Just....why? I would rather have a new car every two years. I want to go out to my garage, get in my car with as much technology and gadgetry as I can afford, and have it start every time. If something goes wrong, I want to call someone and have them drop off a loaner car and take mine to get fixed under warranty, and never deal with the repair costs on an old shitbox.
Cars are either fun or something to get you from A to B. If your view of cars is the former, you're most likely to prefer new cars and not want something 10 years old with 200000 miles on it. If the latter, then you probably want something as cheap as possible and couldn't care less about it. In that case, by all means drive a shitbox. Just don't call your self an "auto enthusiast".
