This was my mother. She died of marijuana addiction 16 years ago. I never got to know her because of this horrible drug. People may say weed is harmless, but my mom is dead-proof that it is dangerous. When she was 14 years old and pregnant with me, she snorted marijuana during a rave. She didn't have a designated driver and decided to drive home herself. She got into a wreck. The guilt of the family she killed in the wreck made her addiction worse. As you can see from the pictures below, my mom's appearance changed a lot after adopting this lifestyle. She eventually overdosed while injecting weed into her buttocks. I was born three months after her death, so I never even got to meet her, yet I still miss her.
I've seen countless people suffer from this insurmountable addiction. It needs to stop.
R.I.P. Caroline Ellis (mom).

Hey, I'm looking for some advice. Inspections just came up and I didn't get my car inspected. With no prior issues, last year my car (2002 20v Jetta) started lurching forward and wouldn't engage in the overdrive. Shifting in the automatic mode became problematic, ie the sensor to shift was registering too late causing the car to rev higher than normal, so I began driving my car as if it were a manual transmission car. Obviously since my car no longer has 5th the engine light has been on and I won't be able to pass last years/few days ago inspection. I'm going to the auto shop in a moment to get the rejection sticker for convenience. My problem is I bought this car 2 years ago, now I don't have a great income to fix it like it should be fixed. I'm getting told everywhere that it's going to be ~5k USD to repair this car with factory transmission and installation fees. I check online and find the transmission I need used, albeit with massive mileage, for around 1.5k. I do not know if this should even be considered, as the VW in America seems to be subpar to the VW I drove in Germany, granted I got this one used as well. In your opinion, is it worth fixing this car with a used replacement transmission or should I sell this to a mechanic as a project and look for a new car?
Thanks for reading,

Ever raffle your race car off to friends and family so that you can move to the other side of the globe with a few pennies in your pocket to race a ghost on a mountain in a car built from scrap metal?
No? Well I am.
My goal? To beat Peter Brocks, 1979 Bathurst lap, in a car built by me, on my own budget of gum and hope. I have one year. Most of my worldly possessions are sold or given away now. Only a few things remain, like my beloved Rotary Corolla Race car. Again, a car built from scrap, but some how does what is was supposed to do very well.
I want to reach my goal of 300 tickets sold for the car. If you could share the link, it would be a much appreciated support of my insane and near impossible plot.
