pull up to a friends house on my bike (2009 CBR600RR) to return some dj equipment I borrowed from him. pull it out of my backpack and he stands in awe of my bike.
Before you know it he is telling me about how cool it is and wow that color is amazing. Classic "never seen a bike before" boner.
I tell him some of the stuff about it and he then shows me all of his car upgrades
>mfw his bass system is great
>mfw his engine is big and shiny
>mfw he has turbo, and inter-cooler, and an upgraded race intake
>my god damn face when he says he installed all the parts himself
>walks to bike
>stands in front of bike
>says that he will be willing to install some cool shit on my bike like a new intake and muffler and shit
Awesome I say. Great I say.
> Watch as he quickly loose all credibility for being any sort of mechanic
Him: "dude so is this automatic?"
H: "what? dude its not automatic?"
M: "no, most bikes come manual..."
H: "oh, this must pick the fuck UP then huh."
M: "yeah no doubt but I rarely race"
H: "cool dude so what...this is the clutch (points to the front brake lever) and thats the shifter (points to the rear break pedal). siiiik bruh.
M: " *sigh* thats the front brake, and thats the rear brake. the clutch and shifter are on the other side."
H: "oh, well thats cool. hit me up if you want me to install anything on your bike!"

When: 27th-28th April (fourth weekend)
Where: To be decided, likely to be in the Midlands or South/Central Yorkshire. Need more input for this. At the moment, we're looking at this area due to interest from Scottish and NI/Irish lads, which is a hell of a long way away.
Who: Anyone from the UK and Ireland. Continental yuropeans are also welcome, provided you're mad enough to spend a lot of money getting here.
Facebook group? Yep, go and search for UK BR/O/ Meet 2013. This'll allow us to get a better idea of numbers etc, rather than trying to tell one anon from another.
Use this thread for discussion, suggesting meet locations, and so on.

So /o/, I want to get my first motorcycle, and I will be going for my learners license soon.
Being an ausfag I was looking through bikesales and gumtree for something suitable, and I was thinking along the lines of a Honda 250cc.
I came across the CBR250R MC19 and MC22 (CBR250RR) and I thought they seemed pretty ideal. Not too powerful, still sporty, and not very expensive.
What do you guys think?
I'm ~177cm (5'10") and 95kg (210 pounds?)
Would anyone advise against me buying this motorcycle?
Negotiable $3,000, 45,000 kilometres.
(Yes I have read the sticky)
Any advice would be helpful, post your bikes too or whatever

My dad wants to buy a Ford Focus mark 3, but he can't decide on which engine.
He said it was to be either an Ecoboost 160 BHP or an Ecoboost 181 BHP engine.
I've google around, im hardly able to find a site that actually mentions either of the engines in specific, and because i simply can't seem to gather any useful information, i've turned to you, /o/, the unsaturable lake of car information, in hopes that you will be able to give me some facts, or even hints to which engine would be the better one to choose.
Obviously, i'd like him to have the more powerful engine, but he is more interested in things such as noise, durability, and such.
Please /o/, you're my last bastion.
